My whole upper torso shot out of bed. I stared forward, at nothing. The images of that...that thing crawling out of the girls body wouldn't leave my head. My eyes started to focus and I realized I was just starting at my wall, my pillow leaned against my foot.......My foot? What the-? I was sleeping at the wrong end of my bed. This had never happened before.

I had never been one to dream. Even when I was little. Was this my first dream? Not a very pleasant first dream, if it's my first, I spoke to myself as I turned and slung my feet over the side of my old bed. I stood up and walked to the bathroom of my one bed, one bath apartment, grabbed the washcloth and drenched it in water. Bending over and wiping my face off, I looked in the mirror to make sure I didn't have black circles around my eyes. Luckily for me, I didn't. My boss at J ENTERPRISE would love to have my head for showing up to work with dark circles around my eyes. I guess he is just superstitious about mythical creatures and crap. I'm not, but after that dream I just had, I don't blame him. I put away the washcloth and grabbed my tooth brush. After I brushed my teeth for a good 5 minutes, I straightened up and examined myself again in the mirror. Teeth? Check. Hair? It looks fine. I was about to walk out when I noticed something on my neck. Skin, peeling off.

"Ugh!", I said to my reflection in the mirror. I can't got to work with that on my neck.

I looked around until I found a tweezer. Holding it tight in my fingers, I clinched on to the flaking piece of skin. I pulled on it hard and fast, but it didn't come off. It just grew, peeling off more of my skin that it started out with.

"What in God's name!", I stared at it in the mirror. This was going to get off my neck in the next 10 minutes.

This time I grabbed it with my pointer finger and my thumb, it burned and I dropped it fast. It was just my imagination. Skin can't burn me. I grabbed it again and it still burned, but I didn't let it get in my way. I tugged on the skin harder than last time. It was scorching hot. It was still attached to my neck only now the skin on the back on my neck was gone and a strange, rough skin was underneath it. It was freezing, but the rest of my skin was it's regular temperature.

I'm not sure what made me do it, but I grabbed both sides where the skin was peeling off with my hands. One deep breath and I tore it open. The tear went straight down my spine, revealing more of the rough skin. I screamed in agonizing pain. I didn't stop tearing though. I got it to where I could pull my left arm out of the skin. Then my right arm.

When I pulled it over my head I saw the creature that was hiding behind my soft, human skin. I looked like that thing in my dream. In fact, I looked exactly like it. My eyes were not like things from scary movies, but a warm purple. My skin, my new skin, was grey. It looked like decayed human skin but it was rough and hard. My mouth was like a mans with no lips and cheeks. Only teeth. I was very tall and my back hunched up. I'm guessing from being in my small human body so long.

Then I started to drift again. Back into the dream world. Only this time, I knew it was real.
