Chapter Six
"A Reasonable Deal"
Sobi Sanford's Point of ViewIt was nerve-cracking knowing that I am seated in front of one of the richest families in our province and what the hell, they look so hot and they are all good looking Jusko. But I still managed to eat at 'di naman ako napahiya. Even though apat lang naman kami sa hapag kainan it felt like I need to at least be prim and proper in front of them, carefully not to make mistakes, especially when it comes to table etiquette. Ayun, we just ate dinner with their Dad together. Turned out their Dad is a businessman. While eating, suddenly narinig kong tumikhim si Creston atsaka nagsalita. "Dad, can I tell you something?" napahinto naman sa pagkain ang Dad ng twins atsaka tumingin sa direksiyon namin ni Creston.
"I was wondering," Creston paused, "Since I'm already eighteen" his voice was soft and he was trying to be careful speaking. "Can I be in a relationship na?" his eyes were sincere, was he afraid to ask this from his Dad?
Well by the looks of it, mediyo nagulat yung Dad niya. But his facial expression turned into a smile, and his brows creased "Well of course. Why would I stop you?" he drank his wine tapos tumingin ulit sa amin. "Yeah I think you're ready." He concluded and he turned to look at me.
"Why? is Sobi your ..."
I blushed.
"Omg, no sir – hindi po." Pagmamaktol ko pa sa Dad nila, I wanted to stop whatever he wants to think of me – or even with his kids. Like as if papatol ako sa mga kumag na'to. Creston pouted like a dog.
Their Dad's face turned into a frown one, "I had high hopes you were his girlfriend."
"Aahhh 'di po." I tried to be really nice kasi if I don't baka mapahiya ako sa harap ng Dad nila. "We just met at school kanina, although I'm the campus president I barely know your sons." I added.
"My sons are nice." Their Dad argued.
Sana nga po Sir Sandoval pero hindi. They're the troublemakers at school. Jusko po. I wanted to say that but I don't want to sound rude at their dad.
"So, why did they bring you here then?" asked their Dad. I turned to look at their sons, Chester doesn't mind our argument, because he was just casually sitting in his own chair while eating his own food, meanwhile si Creston naman nakatingin lang sa akin na par abang dismayado – no – he looks like he was dumped.
Don't tell me he brought me here kasi gusto niya ako ipakilala sa Dad nila?
I looked at Creston at pinandilatan siya, motioning him to explain himself and why he brought me here with his Dad but he just pouted at me like as if madadala niya ako sa pabebe niya jusko. So I had no choice but to speak again to explain myself, "I was brought by your sons here kasi they broke my bike." I added.
All of a sudden their Dad looked at the both of them his brows arched, "Ba't niyo naman nasira yung bike niya?" Chester positioned his hands in an akimbo style and closed his eyes.
"He was on the way, where I was driving and he dented our car."
I tried to keep my temper so I said, "You were on the wrong direction of the road." I heard their Dad chuckled, suddenly Chester glared at me, and I did too in return.
"You were dumb enough to be on the way." Chester replied.
Suddenly their Dad spoke, "Chester that's not the way you should speak to your visitor." And just like Chester acted like he was scolded and whined like a dog.
"Sorry Dad." He answered in a soft manner.
So, they're afraid of his Dad huh?
"You broke his bike so what can you offer for him as an exchange?" Sir Sandoval asked of them in a business manner. The two of them just stayed silent. There was only silence in the dining hall, parang nanunuod lang ako ng lecture ng Dad nila sa kaniya. Tumingin sa akin si Sir Sandoval then asked "Say Sobi, where do you live?"
"Uh, sa Trouville Village po." Mga about thirty minutes ang layo ng tinitirhan ko mula sa kanila.
"Oh, my friend owns that Subdivision." Out of the context nitong sagot sa akin. "Well, from now on why don't you join these two sons of mine? From now on, hatid-sundo ka na nila." He negotiated. Well Sir Sandoval is a businessman so what do you expect from the mind of a businessman? "I don't think that's a problem with the two of them, diba Chester? Creston?" he looked at the both of them.
Creston looked at me, he was happy, I wasn't even though alam ko na makakalibre ako ng pamasahe "It's not a problem with me." He answered.
"Kasi 'di ka naman nagda-drive, " pagmamaktol ni Chester sa kaniya. Binelatan lamang ito ng kapatid niya. "Dad, I can like buy him another bike." Chester added. He looks like he's annoyed already.
"No. I want you to drive him to school and from school." Their Dad answered back and the only answer I heard is his signature tsk.
"So Sobi, is that okay with you?" asked Sir Sandoval at me. I just nodded at him and smiled, ngumiti naman ito sa akin. "Well you remind me of my baby." He added, as he looked straight into my eyes. Napakamot naman ako ng ulo ko. "By the way, you're the campus president right? Can you watch over my sons?"
"I don't think that would be a problem po."
I know I'm lying.
Watching them will be difficult, at ma-aadd na naman sila s aburden ko. Jusko.
"Well that settles it."
Suddenly someone came butting in, a beautiful woman. She looks so pretty, parang artista mapula ang labi, tapos ang kinis at maputi. She's a brunette at tantiya ko nasa same age lang sila ni Sir Sandoval. She's wearing a tight red dress, although it looks decent enough at 'di masyadong nakikita ang cleavage, pero ang hugis ng katawan nito jusko mas sexy pa sa akin. She's also very skinny at ang tangkad ng heels nito and she was carrying a lot of things with her, it looks like kagagaling lang nito sa isang mall kasi puro branded na paper bags ang dala nito. The twins were surprised to see her kaya napahug sila sa matangkad na babae. She looked at Sir Sandoval at ngumiti, Sir just nodded at her.
I'm guessing she's their mom. Yeah she looks like them kasi.
