Jason's POV
"No, Jason, I'm serious. Maxine is totally single, totally cute and - might- totally be into you."

How was I suddenly forced into a conversation with Rubi just before lunch? Oh yeah. She sat next to me in Biology and took it as a sign to start talking to me. Could this day get any worse?

"Hey! Are you even listening to me? Did you hear a word I just said?"
Amber leaned over to hear what Rubi was shouting about.

"Frankly, Rubi, I don't give a damn."

Amber fiddled with a lock of her hair. Amber was really cute when she did that. Why she didn't date ,any guy who did his maximum effort to get her attention, I'll never know. Rubi continued to chatter on whilst I tried to pay attention to the History teacher. Mr Slater I believe his name was. He was a really good teacher. That's saying something considering that he teaches history. He wrote down something on the board about Adolf Hitler and how he was foolish enough to take his soldiers to battle in Russia during winter time and during a snow storm nonetheless.

"So, Jason? Are you free this Saturday?" Amber asked taking a moment to look up from her history notebook.

"Why?"

"Well, Rubi just asked and I thought you didn't hear so I thought I'd repeat it for her. Plus she's finally catching on you're pretty much ignoring her."

I gave a short laugh before looking at her. Amber's hair and eyes were just like her name. The amber of her eyes were, at first, scary but at at second look it's like you are flowing in a river of amber . Rubi's eyes were red and it was haunting to look at. Not even the toughest guys in out group could have a stare down contest with her. Except for Antonio, Jackson and I because Antonio was our leader and Jackson and I had grown up knowing the Pearl twins. They were like sisters to me. Sisters who I suddenly had feelings for.

"Again, why?"

"Rubi- might have- arranged for us to sit and eat lunch with Maxine..."

"WHAT?!"

The whole class was pretty much ruined after that and before the bell rang for lunch I was contemplating how long I would sit with Miss Royal Bitch before before I went to the 'bathroom'.

Maxine's POV
"What do you mean Rubi arranged for me to eat lunch with that pig?!"

I practically yelled at Farren and Beaulique . I was okay eating lunch with Amber and Rubi. They were fun. Well Rubi brought in most of the fun but Amber seemed incredibly sweet and she had the innocent thing going on. Upon hearing that I was also going to be stuck with the Light twins I was absolutely mortified for my entire Home Economics class.

"Exactly what I said, Maxine. Rubi just told me on her way to lunch. No offense Max but I don't see the problem. Jason is kinda cute in a bad boy way and Jackson... he seems...nice?" Beaulique answered my question cautiously.

"About as nice as a punch in the face? 'Cus that's what I'm gonna do to Rubi when I see her." Farren stood with her red fingernail propped at the bottom of her lip.

"I don't know Max. You always said it would be fun to have a boy enemy didn't you?" Farren looked into my eyes before walking towards the entrance to the cafeteria.

"She's got you there buddy." Beaulique stated as she walked into the cafeteria.

I always said I wanted a boy enemy, yes, but it's only 'cus guys throw themselves at me. I never imagined I'd get a boy enemy that's so - so - so stubborn! He's also kind of sexy if I think about it. With his dark hair and those dark blue eyes. He's also kinda muscled but not overly so and my last boyfriend or even date was last year. Maybe we could-

"Hey, Gorgeous." My thought were cut short as Jackson Light strolled up to me. He seemed a lot like his brother only his hair was brown and as was his were his eyes. I wonder which ones older between the two of them? Is there a millisecond difference, a second difference, a couple of minutes or maybe even an hour or two?

"Jackson, didn't just tell you to stop standing next to trash bins you'll start to stink up the place. Oh wait, it's just Rose."

"Hello to you too. For your information my name is Maxine." I was choosing to ignore the trash bin comment because I was bigger than that and I would not stoop to petty name calling and insults.

"Yes. You're name is Maxine but your last name is Rose. Until you've earned my approval you'll be addressed as Rose. Is there a problem with that, Rose?"

He deliberately added Rose at the end to tick me off but I tried to keep calm. Inside though I was steaming I had so many problems with the name Rose because I hadn't been called that since kindergarten and it was only because Rose was easier to recall than Maxine. Jackson continued to walk next to me and even tried to initiate a conversation about the weather and how someone found snow in the janitorial closet . I was mildly bored with the conversation and was wondering how much longer lunch would carry on until Antonio Quest waltzed up to Jackson and I.

"Hey, Jackson, since when did you and Miss Hotty start hanging out and since when was it legal to have three hot babes around you?" I was wondering who had invited him to lunch with us, I was betting Rubi, when Amber and the devil herself walked up to me. Where is Beau and Ren right now? I feel outnumbered. All of them are from the same group, all of them are in my class and I'm still getting used to hanging out with Rubi and Amber.

"Hey, Max! We're over here in case you're wondering. Also where's your lunch? Farren forgot her's and I dad we'd share ours with her."

I walked over to the table wondering how long I would sit with the Light twins before I had to go to the 'bathroom' and get rid of their presence.
