How do you do?

I am quite well, myself. Well... except for the fact that my only sister's sanity is quickly deteriorating into complete madness... And the fact that everyone I become close to ends up dead or leaves me... And the matter of having no one to talk to but myself through my writing... But you know, besides that, I'm not doing too bad.

Care for a cup of tea?

Two sugars, black, right?

Oh, there goes Marion again. Can you hear her? She's singing a song about the roses that grow in our backyard. And how beautiful, how red, how... lovely they are.

Marion has never seen roses... And we don't have a backyard...

I should probably go and check on her before she gets too crazy.

I'll be back in a minute. Make yourself at home.

Well, I'm back now. Sorry. Sometimes Marion gets a little bit out of control. I just needed to give her... Anyway. I'm so glad you're here with me. You are the only one who listens. And I can't let that change. Not again.

Here! Let me get something to eat for you. I know that you must be hungry.

Are cookies alright? I have cake somewhere in the cupboards as well.

What? Y-yes, of course I'm alright! Why would you say that? My hands aren't shaking, what are you talking about? I am perfectly fine.

...

...

Ugh...  You're right. I'm not okay.

But would you be willing to listen to my story if I told you? Just sit down, get cozy and allow me to start from the beginning.
