I feel back on my bed with and oof. Today was ruff. I had to do the laundry, go to soccer practice, and it was my turn to make dinner. I got my pjs and reluctantly did my homework. After watching my daily dosage of Neflix, I went to bed and quickly fell asleep. Hours went by, everyone was sleeping soundly in their own rooms. There wasn't a single noise in the house, it was eerily quiet.
I woke up.
Something, was making a rustling noise in the kitchen. It was probably the dog, Bailey always woke up early. I dozed off, cursing under my breath.
The rustling didn't stop, it got even louder.
I had enough of that dog. I got up, and groggily walked to the kitchen. I could hear the creaking of my footsteps along the wooden floor. The moon shown through the windows, illuminating the hallways. Everything was, quiet. I laughed a little, usually the house was a mess. My little brother usually ran through the halls, shouting and screaming. My older sister, usually blasting her music, our parents yelling at her to turn it down. Heh...
My smile faded once I got to the kitchen.
Bailey...wasn't there.
The thumping of my heart echoed in my ears. Was someone trying to break in? I shakily grabbed the bat near the table and made my to where the noise was coming from.
The window.
With each step my fear grew, a lump forming in my stomach. I took a deep breath and jumped to where the window was.
It was a branch tapping on the window.
How cliche'.
I turned around and started to stomp back into my room. I started to head upstairs, but then, there was another noise.
A growl.
I slowly turned around on my heels, went back to kitchen, and scanned the room. Everything looked normal. " Probably something outside" I thought to myself.
That's when it slowly, on all fours, crawled, across the floor, coming towards me.
Its claws scratching along the wooden floor. It seemed to be, grinning, its saliva drooping from its mouth. Its red eyes glowing in the moonlight.
I dropped the bat.
I stumbled and fell on the floor, hitting my head on the wall. My limbs, wouldn't move. Tears started to fall from my eyes, as it drew nearer.
My memories started filling back into my head. Falling off my bike when I first learned, rocking to My Chemical Romance with my sister, playing with toy dinosaurs with my brother, and going out with my parents for my birthday.
Those memories will soon be all gone...
As the creature towered over me, I smiled.
I least I would end with remembering my wonderful family
