Katilina POV
Throughout dinner I didn't dare say a word. Dominic didn't talk either. I was so glad to be done. "I'm going to go", I murmured. Adrian stood and said, "I'll show you to your room". I looked down at Dominic whose eyes was on Adrian. "Thank you". He walked around the table and took the lead towards the door. He opened the door for me and I looked back at Dominic. For some reason I wanted to stay with him. I didn't want to be escorted to my room by his second hand. I wanted him to do it. His eyes were on me. When I realized he wasn't going to stand up I turned and grabbed Adrian's arm. Looking back one more time I saw Dominic's eyes harden. Leaving the room Adrian talked first as we walked up the stairs. "I'm surprised". "About what"? "I've never seen the boss get mad over a woman. I mean he's had his fair share and some of us have taken seconds of the same woman but he sees red when anyone touches or even makes a remark about you. You've seem to crawl under his skin in the past few hours". I gasp at the thought of Dominic sharing his women. He's a player. "Don't fall for him, honey. He'll only break your heart. He kills for a living. That's what he's best at. He actually just killed right before he ran into you. You need to be careful". I found myself relaxing against him as he open my new bedroom door. "Stay. Please"? Knowing I was scared he nodded and sat on the couch across from my bed. Pulling the covers back I climbed in the bed and lay down. "Tell me about yourself", I whispered. "I'm 28 and I've known Dominic since high school. He was my man. My brother. Well the old man died and Dominic had to take throne. He offered me a job that I couldn't refuse. My grades were so bad. There was no way I'd get into college. I took his offer and I've been working for him since. My mom died giving birth. My dad ran like hell. I grew up in an orphanage. Dominic has always been generous and he's a man to his word. But dangerous too. You should remember that Katilina". I nodded and felt myself falling asleep.
Dominic POV
She grabbed Adrian's arm and left. I found myself wanting to follow her. I shook my head and told myself she's a low life I saved. There's nothing special about her. Getting up I walked up the stairs and I heard talking come from Katilina's room. Adrian is with her. I won't get mad. Calming myself I walked away. Let him do with her as he pleases. Walking into my room I went straight to my shower. She's not going to get under my skin. Getting out of the shower I dried myself off and climbed in bed. It's getting late, 10 pm. I found myself wondering if Adrian decided to stay the night in her room. I climbed out of bed, curiosity getting the best of me. Throwing some clothes on I slipped out of my room and quietly opened Katilina's door. The lights were off and she was sleeping silently in her bed. I let out a breath of relief and closed her door. "You need to focus", Adrian's voice said. I turned and glared. "You need to mind your damn business". "You know she won't be good for you. You sleep around. Your always gone. She won't be happy". "And you think you could make her happy", I snapped. "Yes". "My blood boiled. "I could stay faithful. She'd be your weakness and it's the first things the Russians will be after. I could promise her things and make her happy. Things you wouldn't do if you had the chance". "I could make her happy if I wanted. I am the one she ran to". "If I remember correctly your the one pulling her away and not giving her a choice", he snapped back. "Then we'll see who she chooses", I hissed. He nodded and disappeared down the stairs.
She's mine. I will kill anyone who tries to take what's mine.
