At The Stroke Of Midnight

Chapter 1

The harsh cold winter air whistles through the night as the big old clock chimes midnight
Hi I'm Victoria Rose but Tori sounds much better and I have the privilege to go to one of the coolest schools ever Winterheaven, it's my first day tomorrow and I don't know what I'm expecting it is said that Winterheaven has the best instructors and my mom thought it would be the best school for me to go to as I am stronger than your everyday vampire.
I'm living with my mom as my dad left us and I don't know why, my mom didn't even cry she just gave him a kiss and nodded then he vanished.
You see my mom and dad are famous they were both the top of their classes and they both used to be on the council before they had me
A rule about the members of the council is that you can't have family to distract you or show favouritism towards,even though they left they are still very well respected.
I hear a knock at the door
"Hello sweetie" my mom says
"Hi mom"
"Are you ready for school tomorrow?"
"Yes"
I've got your lunch packed for you baby

She closes the door
And I just keep thinking about my new school about a few hours later I fall asleep

My alarm goes off ,and I turn it off so hard I smash it.
My mom comes in "oh no not another one"
Sorry mom I apologize
It's ok baby she says but that about the 345th one
Ya well I don't mean too break them
I know and that's why we are sending you to a professional school so that you can control your strength

"Ok mom" I pick out a plain black t-shirt ,jeans
and a black hoodie
Then I go to the washroom and put my hair in a loose side braid and walk downstairs
I walk into the kitchen and grab a mouse in the bowl then bare my fangs and dig in
I see my bag at the door so I slip it on and walk out the door
When I approach the big creaky old gates I take a deep breath
Ok the next stage of my life begins
As I open the doors I walk inside and there are many student there all staring at me
A boy with a loose grey shirt approaches me
Hi he says my name is Jake and holds out his hand for me to shake

Hi my name is Victoria but I go by Tori is this your first day too?

We make eye contact and I freeze his face is really handsome with those beautiful blue eyes and chocolate brown hair. I caught myself staring and.....drooling!
I pull back quickly
He narrows his eyes and a wicked smirk appears on his lips and he chuckles lightly  Nice meeting you he says as he waves goodbye
I just stare at the place where he vanished
Then someone taps me on the shoulder
I turn around
Hi she says my name is Katherine but please call me Kate I'm new here as well
I have good look at Katherine beautiful long blonde hair and eyes with the colour of the sea

Which dorm are you staying in? She asks
I'm in E23
Oh my god were roomies!!!!!! She looks excited
Great! I'm happy to have found a friend
There are two more girls that will be with us she says looking at her paper
I look at mine
Then two girls approach

Hi, me and Kate wave
We are all roommates Zoe says

Well all be best friends Serena says

Attention Attention students says a old woman with piercing black eyes
Please proceed to your dorms to unpack your things and then you are all expected to attend the Welcome ceremony in the auditorium where you will receive your schedule and meet your instructors and please remember to keep with your group then she turned and said dismissed over her shoulder
What does she mean by group I ask Serena
I can't believe you don't know she said surprised
By group she means with your own kind you aren't allowed to interact with any other species unless in combat Zoe replies
Wow I think that's horrible

No Kate says but it must be a good reason cause it's the most important rule here

Zoe and Serena reply the same way as Kate

Then we all heap our stuff and head towards our dorms
