His teeth clenched Gorgili considered his options. On one side: even if this man wasn't legit, he just willingly killed his family for his job. On the other side: If he let this man through, and his superiors found out, they'd have him jailed or even killed. Gorgili's family's only source of income, rotting in a prison...

He did not like either option. Hesitantly, Gorgili's eyes wandered to the next waiting person in the line. Their eyes locked and he tried with all his being to communicate. Tell her without using words or motion to get the guard's, a response, anything! Finally, they broke gase. Her eyes went down to the man across the glass's side. Horror swept over her face. She saw what Gorgili feared most. A possibility on death. A gun. The glass may be made to withstand a gun shot, but not the wood and mortar of the wall beneath. His hand was heavy, his breath likewise. Gorgili motioned to the table, suggesting that the hitman was to place his passport down. He did. Gorgili grabbed the passport and flipped to the next open page. The travel book said his identity was Nickoli Servanos. Most likely an alias. He moved his hands over to the to the stamps, never breaking eye contact. Quickly, Gorgili slammed his hand on the DETAINED switch under his desk. The shutters slammed shut and the lights shut off. A red emergency light glowed overhead. The shadow of the hitman looked around. His arm rose and three gunshots rang throughout the booth. The glass shattered and one got through. The bullet glanced him in the arm. Gorgili fell to the floor in excruciating pain. The hitman darted from the booth and headed for the exit. He sprinted across the border field. The man shot back at the guards that pursued him. He hit one and he fell over, face first in the snow. It began to turn red. Two more guards cut him off ahead.

"GLORY TO REPUBLIA," the hitman exclaimed at the top of his lungs. He came barreling down on the guards. They ripped four shots through him before he pulled the pin to a last-resort suicide vest. The very earth shook as the explosion killed him and the two guards. All of the other foreigners ran in fear, though the wall was too big to see over, the black plume of smoke and ground shaking detonation was enough to tell the tale...
