"Ohh man..."
I moan out if a sore throat.
"What happened?"
I ask the empty room.
"Nurse he's awake!"
Someone yells.
I moan again and look through blurry eyes.
•beep•
A machine goes.
Probably my heart beat.
"mmm"
I say.
I turn over but chords stuck into my arm keep me from doing so.
I keep blinking and my eyes finally clear up.
I look to my side and see a bearded man...
Orchid.
And a nurse.
"Hey are you okay?"
He asks
I speak, but nothing comes out of my throat.
"I know it seems a little excessive for a broken leg but your ankle seemed to be infected and it had dirt and concrete shards and trash in it. The wound sealed with those inside, and they had to do surgery."
He says giving me crazy eye contact.
Why is Orchid here?
I look around my room and see a coffee cup on the table next to my hospital bed.
"Where is my baby gavin??"
Someone yells from the other room.
"I must see him!!!"
Mom.
My mom runs in the door and kneels beside my bed.
"My baby are you alright?"
My mom says as she strokes my cheek.
"Yes mom. Im alright."
I say slightly annoyed.
The Doctor walks in with a clipboard and says
"Ma'am, im gonna have to ask you to leave. He needs to rest, and we need to leave him here. We'll call you if anything else happens."
"Oh.."
My mom says with a blank face.
She slowly walks out and my dad follows.
The door shuts.
The doctor messes with the needles connected to my arm, and i look to the side looking and hoping for Orchid, but hes nowhere to be seen.

As im walking-well, more limping, with crutches, the aroma of the hospital cafeteria drags my attention.
As i look through the entrance i am astonished by the size of the warehouse-like room. the ceiling has skylights and and paper cranes hanging from strings.
I stroll over to the line and grab a tray. i look through the windows at the food
and i spot mac and cheese, garlic bread, grean peas, rice, fried chicken, all of which are being served in enourmous proportions.
I fill up my tray to the rim and i walk out to the hospital garden.
The garden is surrounded by the hospital; Its a rectangle in the center of the hospital.
I sit over at the fountain and watch the Koi fish swim around snd play with one another.
I could get used to this life.
The gardens giant bamboo trees are filled with vibrantly colored birds, bugs, and flowers. the walkway is constantly filled with doctors, nurses, patients, etc.
Where are my visitors? its been 4 days already.
