"Maybe skateboarding wasn't such a good idea" says Melisa with that amazing smile she has. I love it when she smiles. She could light up the whole world with one smile and God knows she's the light of mine.
"Maybe not." I say as I start to laugh along with her a little. "Are you sure you're ok?"
"Yeah. I'll be fine. I just need some help up." she snickers.
I stand up and offer my hand to her to help her up. She grabs my hand and I help her to the car.
"So, where to now?" she eagerly asks.
"Well it's 7pm so I don't know. What do you wanna do?"
"Let's go bowling! I haven't been since..." she starts to trail off.
"Yeah. Me neither." I say looking away from her and down to my lap. "You up for it? With your ankle hurting and all?"
"Yeah!" she shouts, her eyes lighting up once again.
"Then let's go."

We arrive at the bowling alley about 15 minutes later. We walk up to the counter and pay for 2 hours.
"What size shoes do y'all need?" asks the old guy at the counter.
"..8." she says after looking at what her shoes say on them.
"11." I say and Melisa looks at me with shock plastered on her face.
"Your feet are huge!" she laughs. Her laugh makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.
We walk around trying to look for a ball. I find a nice 10 pound ball for me and I start looking for and 8 or 9 pound ball for Melisa. I know she's gonna need one of those two. After we find an 8 pound ball for her we walk over to our lane. Lane 7.
"Hey, do you remember when we were...locked up...and I told you what the most important number was to me?" she asks. Kinda hopeful.
"Yeah, of course! You said 7 was because on your 7th birthday you went to the fair. It was the first time you had ever been to the fair and it was your favorite memory of all. You road the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars. But the Zero Gravity ride was your favorite. Also because your birthday is on July 7th.
She smiled at he fact that I still remembered all of that. To be honest, I never stopped thinking about her.
We sit down to change shoes and I set up the game. I go first and I get a spare. Then she goes and gets a gutter her first throw. I stand up, when she comes back to get her ball, I walk up with her and grab her waist.
"Here, let me help."
I grab her arm and walk behind her. I pull her arm with the ball up and tell her how to step. Then I went and sat down while she threw. This time she got a split and she was so happy she actually hit some pins.

I walk into the bowling alley with my friends.
"So that new girl's kinda cute eh?" my friend Luca asks.
"Yeah I guess..." I say.
"OOOOOOOHHH HE BLUSHIN!!!!" my other friend Drew exclaims loudly.
"Shut up! No I'm not!" I yell as I hide my face a little.
I look up and to my surprise I see Melisa. She goes to bowl and her ball is like a magnet to the gutter. I'm about to walk over to her when I see Sam stand up and walk over to her. I watch as he grabs her arm with one hand and, to my dismay, her waist with his other hand.
When they separate, she bowls and and gets a split.
Why is she with him?
My head is spinning. Why would anyone in there right mind wanna be with a guy like that? Someone who does the kind of stuff he does.
Why? What does she see in him?
Clearly she has no idea that she's gonna get hurt.

Our 2 hours are up and we got to play 2 games. We would have played more but we had a snack break. We returned our shoes and walked to the parking lot.
I opened the door for her and closed it and then went to my side and got in. It's 9pm now.
"So where to now?" I ask turning my head to face her.
"I don't know...I kinda don't wanna go home though..." she says quietly, looking down at her lap.
I could tell she didn't wanna go deeper into the topic so I just left it at that.
"If you want...you can stay at my place. My mom won't care." I shyly say.
"Ok..." she says slowly looking up from her lap as a slight smile begins to form.
