Cupcake :: IX

She brought a cupcake for him tonight
He said it was very good
And asked what she put in it
She said love
And he laughed
And she laughed
Because it was a joke
Because they didn't love each other
But she was beginning to like him
And wondered what he thought of her

And this had never crossed her mind before
When he was touching her
And maybe that was because her mind was always somewhere else
Because he always stopped her train of thought
With his fingers that glided so smoothly down her arm
And through her hair

So maybe now
When they didn't touch like they used to
Because he was sick now
And she was starting to get bored
They talked more
And actually got to know each other
On the inside
And it was nice

Because that got their mind off things too
