Chapter 1:

It's about 8:00 in the morning. I'm at the kitchen counter eating breakfast. Miya walks in.

"Hey Kamela."

"Hi." I respond

She walks over to the door and grabs her coat, I look out the window and see orange and red leaves falling from the trees.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Oh, no where." she smiles.

I take my plate over to the sink.

"No, seriously, where are you going?"

"I said, I'm not going anywhere." she responds.

"I won't tell mom." I say.

She walks over to the counter and leans over on it.

"I'm going to the field." She says.

"Why are you going there?"

"Because," she steps back. "I need someplace to go."

"I'm coming with you." I say. Something is going on, and I need to find out what it is.

She looks back at me. "Uh, no, your not."

"Uh, yea, I am." I say, mocking her voice.

"No! Kamela, you are not going!"

"Fine" I say "I'll just tell mom."

"Kamela! You can't come!" She yells.

"And you can't tell mom!"

"Why?" I ask.

"Just cause, ok?" She looks at the time. "I gotta go."

I just watch her go out the door. She turns left and starts running. She's not going to the field, she knows that you turn right. Something is definitely up.

I run upstairs and grab my jacket and boots. I head back downstairs to grab my gloves.

"I'm going to pick up something from the market!" I yell.

The market is what used to be the hob. They changed the name along with the location, now it's in the center of district 12. Which is about a 5-7 minute walk from my house.

"Okay!" My mom yells back. "Be back by lunch!"

"Okay!"

I'm not really going to the market, I'm going wherever Miya is going.
