"Here's where you'll be staying." Jisoo's sister pointed into a prettily decorated room. The bed was large with decorative throw-on pillows. The room was really girly, mainly pink, and stuffed animals can be seen on the bed and dresser.
"Wah~" I said with amazement. I hadn't realize my mouth was wide open until I felt my mouth getting dry. "Ahh~ kyeopta (so cute)"
I began to look around the room, admiring the cute designs and organized placement of everything. My father is pretty rich himself, so I also had a large room. But it was very plain and it was almost hard to tell that it was a girl's room.
"This is actually my room," she chuckled at how much I was liking the room. "But since you don't have anywhere to stay for now, we can be roommates!"
"That's so generous of you and your family, I don't know how we can repay you." I was extremely thankful that they're allowing us to stay at their place.
"No, no it's our pleasure to help!"
She pushed my wheel chair towards the bed.
"It's okay, I can walk haha" I stood up making my way to the bed.
"That's not good for you, don't stand!" She protested.
I sat down on the bed patting by me, signaling for her to come sit by me. "Stop worrying so much, I'm fine!" I assured.
She rolled her eyes jokingly and sat by me.
I continued looking around and then the sudden realization hit me, "Wait, what's your name?" Up until now I haven't properly asked for her name.
"My name's Joo Ri, Park Joo Ri. Actually that's my Korean name, my name back in America was Julie."
"Jurie.." I repeated. I was having a little bit of trouble pronouncing the L in Julie, "I'll just stick to calling you Joo Ri" We both laughed.
It's not very noticeable but she has a slight American accent when she speaks. But then again, she's lived in America all her life... wait, so then how does she know Korean?
"How do you and your brother speak Korean so well?" I asked.
"Well before starting school my parents would speak to us in Korean so it was my first language. But throughout the years, I'd learn English at school and speak Korean at home since my father wasn't fluent in English. My mom was though."
"Ahh~~" I nodded my head. That makes sense.
"So is this your first time in Korea?"
"Yeah heh, it's a lot different here and I'm still a little jet lagged." She joked.
"How long are you guys staying for?"
"18 months."
I continued nodding my head.
*knock knock*
"Hey girls, are you hungry?" My mother asked holding a tray.
I hadn't eaten the whole day and neither did Joori probably, since she was at the hospital with me.
"Yes!" We both said at the same time.
"Wow, you guys must be starving" my mother joked.
