A long time ago, there was a woman named Peccatum. God had gifted her with an all seeing eye, but told her if she ever tried to change her future after seeing it, he would punish her. Peccatum agreed to the terms and lived through her life with the ability to see her future. Eventually, she began to become bored with her life. She could see everything, which meant she wasn't surprised by anything. She was willing to do anything that would surprise her, even break her promise to God. So, she looked into her future as she slept that night and saw herself meeting a young man who would later cause her great pain. When she awoke, she decided that she wouldn't speak to the person and see what happened. She went into town that day and indeed saw the man. She ignored him, walking straight past and turning down a small path. As she was walking, she was ripped to the side by another male. The man ended up raping the female and leaving her to be left all alone. Once she had gained enough strength to struggle home, God contacted her once more. She yelled and cursed him for letting such a thing happen to her while he stated that he warned her. If she ever tried to change her future, he would punish her. Her punishment was not over. He informed her that the rapist had impregnated her. God had given her seven children of which she had never wished. It did not stop there, as he said that even if she learned to love the children that came from her mistake, they would suffer in hell with her for they were made out of pure sin. The first born was named Pride. Pride is the excessive belief in one's abilities; that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. He was to be broken on a wheel for eternity. The second was Greed. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. He was to be boiled by scalding hot oil for eternity. Then there was Gluttony. Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. He was to be force-fed rats, toads, and snakes for eternity. Then Lust came along. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. She was left to be smothered in fire and brimstone for eternity. Then Envy arrived. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Envy was to be left in freezing water for its eternity. Her second to the last child was Sloth. Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. She was left to be thrown into a pit of snakes for eternity. Her last child was Wrath. Wrath is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. Her punishment was to be dismembered alive and suffer for eternity. She lived with the children for years, slowly being driven insane before she awoke in the middle of the night and killed the children in their sleep. Once God had found out about this, he chose to give the children a little more time. He made them stronger and in the form of spirits that would control dead corpses of people who committed their sin until they were killed. Each one was murdered in a different way, one way that God never let their siblings know just in case they chose to attack each other. So, the sins returned to their life and possessed their bodies before brutally killing their mother. They were created by sin, so God expected this out of them. Thus, the sins travelled throughout the world for many years, spreading their influence and wreaking havoc on the mortal people.

I sighed as I slammed the book shut, staring at the old letters B-I-B.. The other words had been either scratched out in my utter boredom or faded from age. I'd gotten it from Pride, no idea why he had it, but it was already pretty old when I'd received it. Shaking my head, I turned to my fireplace and tossed the book into the flames, the cover slowly turning black as it all began to curl inwards. I smirked slightly before hearing a smooth and husky voice state,"That thing was probably worth a fortune, considering how old it is." I turned around, locking eyes with a familiar cocky smile and glowing yellow eyes as the voice continued,"You could've made a neat little profit out of it, such a waste." I smiled slightly before calling,
"Greed!" I ran over, hugging the taller figure tightly. I felt his arms wrap around me immediately. I always liked Greed; he wasn't the eldest, but he was better than Pride. Pride never had any time to be with us or speak while Greed, even though he was always looking out for himself, he showed how much he cared for us whenever he was alone with one of us. We all care about each other; we just don't show it. Showing it too often builds bonds, bonds create attachment, and attachment leads to us showing weakness. Besides, none of us feel that a family's love is needed for us, we have time.
"Hey Wrath, sorry I was gone for so long." I laughed slightly before shaking my head and pulling him over to sit down. We sat beside the fire where I could finally see his facial features. He had dark brown skin and jet black hair that appeared to have been in dire need of a cut as it was just barely above his shoulders. He wore fancy workout clothing with a leather jacket and combat boots. He looked rather similar to me, really aside from his marking being placed in his left eye. I had tanned skin with long black hair that stopped at my knees and fluffed out everywhere like I'd just woken up. I had bright red eyes that apparently reflected my anger well when I was staring someone down. I wore ripped, and cargo pants, sneakers, a black tank top, a jean jacket, and fingerless gloves made for things like fighting and rock climbing with my marking being placed on my inner wrist.
"So, what brings you here," I asked, raising an eyebrow as I sat back. I may have been the youngest of our siblings, but I know better than to believe that any of my siblings would visit me just so they could see me, though I wish they would sometimes. He paused before sighing softly and saying,
"It's best if you come with me. We're having a meeting, everyone. It's important." I paused as I heard this before saying,
"If one of us has willingly called a meeting, it must be important. Let's go." He nodded, climbing out my skylight. I watched him leave before shaking my head and running outside. I climbed on top of my motorcycle before speeding off after Greed's fancy-ass car.
