I suppose I can endure a few more weeks of the torture that Lord Jarin is putting me through. But then he too will have to die, just like the rest of them.
Poor Barda, I put a slow reacting poison in his dinner before he left for the Ale House. He probably figured that he drank too much. And Asher, well he had to pay for selling me to Barda in the first place. After Barda was dead, I snuck into the Ale House, knowing that Asher was passed out, I tipped the candle over. And, of course, Gwendolynn. Honestly, I never meant to kill her. Yes, I did step on the train of her dress, but my intention was only to embarrass her in front of her snobby friends. I could not have known that her neck would snap.
To quote Xunzi, "A person is born with feelings of envy and hate. If he gives way to them, they will lead him to violence and crime, and any sense of loyalty and good faith will be abandoned."
Well, when one is abandoned, those feelings of envy and hate are amplified. I chose to give in to those feelings. And I will keep choosing those feelings.
