Draco had to stay in the infirmary for two more days after that, even though he was completely fine. The only thing that made it bearable was visits from his mate.
"Hi baby," Harry said, walking into the room. Draco jumped up and hugged him.
"Hi Harry," he whispered into the crook of his neck. Harry took his hands and led him to the bed. He sat down and patted the space next to him. Draco sat down too. "I'm glad your here. I was starting to get a headache." They had figured out that if they spent to much time away from each other, Draco would feel more and more pain as time went on. Harry would feel a copy of it, but slightly less. Because of this, both boys would often wake up as if somebody had punched them repetitively, and Harry would run to the infirmary and cradle Draco in his arms.
"I know." Draco rested his head on Harry's shoulder.
"I can leave tomorrow." Harry nodded. "The only thing is, if I wake up like normal," Harry knew the pain he felt, "then you can't come into the Slytherin common room."
"I thought of that." Harry pulled out a letter from his bag. It was from Dumbledore. It said that since the boys were mates, they could sleep together in Draco's room. "I was a bit shocked to find out you had your own room."
"Well, my father is a rich Malfoy, so he kind of made Dumbledore give it to me," Draco explained laughing lightly. He looked up at Harry. "Have you told your friends we're mates yet?"
"I've told Hermione. She knew too much about veelas to not figure it out. I haven't told Ron yet though."
"And... The weaslette?" Harry laughed.
"Yes I've broken up with Ginny."
"How did she take it?"
"Badly." He pulled up his robe on his left arm, revealing three scratches. Ginny had obviously scratched him with her freakishly long nails. Draco growled loudly.
"She hurt you! I'll kill her!"
"Baby, calm down. It didn't hurt that much, really." Draco's growling lessened.
"Really?" Harry nodded. "Okay. But if she hurts you again..."
The next day Madame Promfey came in and let Draco go. It had been a Sarurday, so Harry had stayed with him all day.
"I just need to get some stuff from the common room okay?" Draco nodded. Harry went inside. He began to gather up some things- books, quills, the like. Suddenly Hermione ran down and tackled him in a hug.
"Merlin Hermione I've been gone a day!" Suddenly Draco walked in. He saw Hermione and Harry hugging, and growled deeply.
"Get. Off. Him." He said.
"Sorry, Ma- Draco! I forgot!" Hermione said, releasing Harry immediately. Draco stalked up to Harry and put his arms around him protectively.
"You don't need to worry, baby. We're just friends," Harry reassured him. Hermione nodded vigorously.
"Even so," Draco muttered. "You're mine." Harry laughed. Draco loved that sound.
"Bye, Hermione!" He clasped Draco's hand and led him out of the room.
----
The wizard and the veela sat cross legged on the bed, laughing. It was a Sunday afternoon, and most of the school was outside, but Harry and Draco had all they needed in front of them.
Harry looked into Draco's eyes. They were light blue- almost grey. When he laughed they lit up. Harry loved being the one to make them do that. When he became protective or hostile they misted over, becoming harsh. Harry wasn't about to admit it, but he also loved when Draco was protective of him.
He hadn't even realised he was leaning in. Before he knew anything, their lips were connected, electricity running through both boys' veins. Harry ran his tongue along Draco's bottom lip and they fought for dominance, Draco eventually winning. His tongue explored every crevice of Harry's mouth like a young boy exploring a cave. Harry moaned softly, before they broke apart for air. Both boys were grinning manically.
"I love you, Harry," Draco whispered, collapsing into his arms.
"I love you too baby."
