[April , 19th , 3xx7 ]
Icarus and Sugar sat on their flying ship looking at the sky. Icarus signed as he hated night patrol but as a skylord it was his job to protect the skies from harm and it was the thing that made money. Icarus looked over at sugar to see her sleeping as this annoyed him. Sugar was his companion , she was a 17 year old girl who had cat ears and a fluffy cat tail , she was a skylord as well and a very good one for someone who's mostly energetic. Icarus got up with a bucket of water and threw it onto her.Sugar jumped up from her seat and looked at Icarus with a upset expression.
"Icarus I was trying to take a cat nap." Sugar whinned. Icarus signed annoyed even more as he slightly looked up moving his long hair aside.
"Sugar we have a job to do , I want to sleep too but unless you want no money we need to do this." Icarus looked at sugar coldly sending shivers down her spine.
"Ok let me change into dry clothes" Sugar walked off into the lower part of the ship. After she changed she went out to Icarus with a brush as she brushed her long blue and yellow hair. Icarus heard her as her necklace bell jingled as he turned around and looked at her.
"When you finish go check on the map and make sure we're where we need to be." Icarus then went back onto the deck and looked up at the clouds as he knew they were going North. Sugar signed and watched Icarus , she knew Icarus for two years and he always acted the same , cold and emotionless but she saw in his eyes he suffered and been suffering for years. This was the reason why she wanted to become his companion so she could at least make him feel a little happy. She snapped out of her thoughts and went to check the map. She got her compass out and placed it on the map and looked towards the North then went outside and looked at the surface of the ground below and begin to feel uneasy.
"Icarus " She called out with a concerned tone.Icarus heard her and walked to her, Sugar pointed to the land as Icarus looked down and moved back as he knew where they were. They were in a fluxed area.
"Sugar we need to leave now" Sugar looked at Icarus as she went to the top deck and went to the steering wheel.
"Where are we going?" She yelled down to the deck where Icarus was standing looking around the ship.
"We have to go South!" He shouted back . Sugar turned the ship towards South , as the ship was turning another ship appeared.
"Icarus there's another ship!" She said this worriedly. Icarus ran over and looked at the ship as she squinted his eyes before muttering curses. The other ship was covered in flux with other skylords taken over by the flux. The thought of something quickly but didn't like the idea. He knew ship's weapons didn't work near land due to safety precautions so if a ship ever got hijacked from a ship dock or when down on the land they can't just blow things up. Icarus ran into his room and grabbed three swords before running back out.
"Sugar go to lower ground so they won't be able to fire!" Icarus yelled. Sugar looked at him and nodded and went lower to the land. He checked on their boats weapons smiled a little seeing it worked. He looked up at the other boat seeing it get on the same level as them. Sugar stopped the boat and went to Icarus.
"What do we do now ?" she looked at him worried as they never were attacked before but that's only because people feared Icarus and they heard the stories of the times Icarus was attacked. Icarus smiled widely.
"Remember what I taught you?" He tossed her the sword as she grabbed it. Sugar nodded and took the sword out of its case.
"Well then this will prove how much you been practicing over the year" Icarus took off his shirt as it was a hobby for him to do so when fighting. The other boat was close as the fluxed skylords threw other grappling hooks and climbed up to the docks of their boat. There was about 20 of them , this made sugar a little uneasy but not Icarus this only made him more excited. Icarus drew out both his swords with a grim smile as they then darted towards them both. Swords then started clashing , Icarus sliced them as he took on 14 of them with ease as sugar took the other 6. Sugar found it a little difficult and even had very closed calls. Bodies fell to the ground as fast as leaves in the Fall. Icarus had about 6 left as he danced with them. His swords clashed with theirs while he moved graceful , A sword lashed at him but he was a little too late as it left a cut on his chest. He barely felt it as it wasn't deep at all it. He darted forward slicing the man in the chest leaving a deep cut. The man fell to the ground before dying seconds later. He finished off the other five before going to Sugar to help her. Sugar was facing the captain , He was a huge man with flux growing off of him giving him a thick layer of purple skin. He raised his sword about to lash at Sugar but Icarus go to him before he could get her. Icarus used both his swords and cut off his arm as purple goo mixed with blood splattered out . The man yelled and with all their power they hit him with his free hand knocking him off the boat. Icarus hit the ground hard as he gasped for air as pain jolted down his back. He couldn't feel the gooey flux on his back as he tried to catch his breath, when he did he slowly rolled onto his chest and slowly got up trying to ignore the intense pain. He looked up at the ship and looked around with disgust as flux was everywhere. He saw a huge tree close the ship and got an idea. Icarus picked up his swords that have been thrown off the ship along with him and climbed up the tree. He got to the highest branch and expected the branch to see if it could hold at least a little bit of his weight and it could. He prepared himself before dashing forward taking 3 steps as he then jumped. He lifted his hands with the sword blades in hand and forced them down digging them into the side of the ship and quickly looked up as he knew the swords couldn't possibly hold him there for long, he saw a ledge above him as he forced himself up placing one foot on the inner blade where the blade and wood met and quickly kicked himself up as the sword came out falling to the ground below him. He grabbed the ledge as his hands were slipping slightly off the ledge as his hands were bleeding from the blades digging into his skin when he was pushing himself up. He looked up again and saw a window but it was outwards so it would be a hard jump but Icarus was good at parkour as he trained himself since the age 13 so it wouldn't be that hard but there was a 50% chance he could kick off to strongly or too weakly and fall back to the land below and this time he won't survive as his back was already damaged and one fall would break his spine. He let one hand go as he wiped the blood off and grabbed the ledge again and did the same to the other so he wouldn't fall off and tucked his knees to his chest. He looked at how far it was and studied the angle and did the math in his head for how much force he needed. He then jumped and grabbed on to the ledge of the window , his body rocked back and forward as his hands moved closer to the edge. He tucked his body in as he slowly stopped , he could hear swords clashing against each other knowing it was Sugar and the Captain. Sugar kept dodging their attacks by moving or blocking with her sword. The Captain's arm wasn't bleeding as much as before but due to the wound he slowly became weaker plus he was using his weaker arm so he was sloppy when fighting. The captain lashed at her but she was a little late as the sword cut her upper arm. She let out a yelp as Icarus pulled himself up quickly entering the bottom deck and ran to the top deck where they were. He saw the wound and this drove him crazy , he wasn't gonna allow anyone to hurt his companion , no his friend and get away with it. Icarus went back down the stairs and got 2 spare swords he had that he wouldn't use unless it was an emergency which it was and went back up to the deck and pulled them both out. The swords were handmade as they were sharper and stronger than any of the swords he has owned or seen. He slowly walked over as the captain saw him and forgot about Sugar. The captain darted towards Icarus and when he was close enough he raised his sword and brought it down only for Icarus to block it with both swords. Icarus pushed forward with everything he had and swiped his sword causing the captain's sword to fly back. The captain stepped back in fear but quickly got himself together as he raised his fist about to punch him but Icarus just sliced his hand off causing the captain to scream as he backed away. Icarus moved closer as the captain continues to back away as he looked at Icarus with fear , the captain was now near the edge as Icarus began to speed up faster and faster partly running now , The captain had nowhere to run as he just stood there in fear unable to run away as he looked into Icarus's eyes and saw death. Icarus slowly began to smirk as he was only about 15 feet away from him. Icarus started to run and when he was only 2 feet away he ducked as he held his swords in a way so it made a X then pushed his body up along with his swords and sliced him as the blow made him fall off the ship. Icarus watched before turning to Sugar and walking to her.
