Chapter 8. Alex

He told me to wait in the kitchen and headed off down the hallway. I sat there wondering what he was doing. After a while he came back and handed me a blue burlap duffle bag. I looked at it confused and started to open it.

" It's just some more clothes and stuff you'll need." He said. I closed the bag and stood up. "So where are we going." I said. He walked to the sink and put my plate in it. Then he turned to me and said " We are going to New York. Come on let's go to the car." He started to walk away towards the door but I grabbed his arm. "Don't you want me to change first? These clothes aren't really the most comfortable."  He looked at me and smiled " If they weren't comfortable you could have told me. I would have gotten those clothes sooner and let you change."

I turned on my heel and walked towards the bathroom. When I got there I opened the bag to see what clothes were in there. I settled on a pair of black skinny jeans that had tears running down the legs and a loose t-shirt. I threw my hair up in a bun and exited the bathroom. I met back up with Jordan in the living room.

"Ready to go?" I said.

"Yep." He said as he stood from the couch and walked towards the door. He opened it and motioned for me to go through. I walked past him and he closed the door. We walked to the car and got in. We put on our seatbelts and he started the car. He drove out of the driveway and onto the road.

"Want to listen to some music." He said"It's still Linkin Park."  I nodded and he turned on the radio. He switched it to track 2 and said " I don't really care for the intro to this CD."  I nooded and turned to him " So what are we going to do when we go to New York?" I said. " Well first we are going to go to my buddies apartment, we're both in the same business, and then we'll just start killing."  I nodded and looked forward.

We entered New York within a couple of hours. He drove slowly down back alleyways. He stopped in front of a silver door and honked the horn three times. I hadn't noticed it before but he had stopped in front of a door that looked like a garage door. After he honked the horn, the door opened and he drove in. He stopped and got out of the car, I did the same. He walked towards another silver door and opened it. I followed him down a long hallway and through yet another door. Finally we were in a room that looked to be a weapon room.

"Pick out anything you want." He said " You'll need them later. We're going to kill the biggest crime boss in New York." I looked around and and picked out a 9mm with a black holster, a flip out pocket knife, and a pack of magazines that each held 16 rounds plus the one that was already in the gun.

When I was finished I followed Jordan through a door that led to a room that looked a lot like a living room. There was a guy that looked about Jordan's age sitting on a couch in the corner of the room he was smoking a cigar and talking on a phone. He looked up and a motioned for Jordan and me to sit down. He smiled at me as I passed him.

I took a seat next to Jordan and waited for him to hang up the phone. When he finally did he turned to us and a big grin spread across his face.

"Looky here, looky here. You finally brought a woman for me. How nice." He said

"Back of Chad she's mine." Jordan replied

"How rude. Don't even bring me a good woman any more. What a shame." He said shaking his head "Anyway what're you here for? Money?"

"No." Jordan said "I'm going back in the business."

"Well nice to see ya." He replied "Shall we get to work?
