I'm running through a dark hall. From what, I don't know. I can hear my pulse in my ears, a steady thump thump.
There's a door.
Thump thump.
My legs are weakening, my pace slowing.
Thump thump.
I have to keep running.
Thump thump.
I'm 20 feet away from the door. A deep, husky voice calls out from behind me... A familiar voice. I skid to a stop, and turn around. Beau.
"What's wrong babe?" His brow is furrowed, and he looks tired.
"Beau!" I ran into him arms, clinging on to him for dear life.
Thump thump.
"Don't be scared. Shh..." He combs through my hair, trying to calm me. "There there... There nothing to be scared of." Something isn't right... He's cold...
"Beau.. ?" I take a step back, frightened by the coolness of his touch.
"What's wrong babe?" A mischievous smile plays across his lips.
"Beau." I repeat. I try to say more, but a lump blocks any sound from coming out.
"I told you there's nothing to be scared of." He says, more serious this time. He takes a step forward, and I take a step back.
Thump thump.
"Babe?" He asks again. His face distorts slowly, like a painting being washed away.
Even more scared by this, I start backing away. Small noises escape my mouth, and betray my calm appearance. My heart is pulsing fast and hard, nearly exploding out of my chest. "Get away from me!" I shout, on the verge of tears.
"There's no way you're getting rid of me. I'm staying here forever." Forever. The word repeats, over and over, like a broken record.
Thump thump.
I turn to run towards the door. I need to get away from him.
15 feet.
Thump thump.
10 feet.
Thump thump.
5 feet.
Thump thump.
I grasped the brass door knob, but quickly pull away when I notice it's hot. I look down at my hand, and see the skin burnt off, the edges continuing to burn like paper. The pain in nearly unbearable. I look over my shoulder, and see Beau walking towards me with a devilish smirk across his smudged face. His entire body rippled like a rock being tossed into a pond.
Thump thump.
His skin pales, turning into an unnatural white. His eyes narrow as he looks directly into me. They turn an unnamed shade of yellow, and his pupils grow the size of a marble. He rises his left hand and rips his shirt off, revealing his (in other circumstances) angelic body. He continues to walk towards me. His hair fades into silver, and his clothes are burning at the hems.
"What's wrong? Aw, baby, look at your hand. I should kiss that better." He laughs.
He's 10 feet away when I snap my head back, bracing myself for the pain to come. I reach out for the door knob one more time, and grip it tight. I turn it, and to my horror, it's lock. I begin to frantically bang on the door.
Thump thump.
Loud screams leave my mouth, and my face twists into a look of horror.
Thump thump.
Sparing a glance over my shoulder, I see his plump lips. A terrified scream leaves me, but he quickly shuts me up by kissing me. My body goes limp, and I'm hypnotized by the passion for a moment.
Thump thump.
But then I feel a sharp pain in my lower stomach, and pull away. I hiss as I look down, and I literally feel my eyes bulging out. A black feather is sticking out of my stomach. It burns. Tears are now streaming shameless down my cheeks. My breaths start getting more shallow. I look back up, into his eyes, horror apparent on his face.
"Vanessa. VANESSA HELP ME! VANESSA HELP ME! HELP!" He cries in pain, the colour returning to his face, and his eyes turn back to green.
"VANESSA HELP!" Tears escape the corners of his eyes, and he begins scratching at his back.
Thump thump.
I watch in horror as he hopelessly rips at his back. He turns around, as if to show my his pain, and I see his back opening. To black holes are poking out on his shoulder-blades, blood dripping down his toned back. Black feathers flutter to the floor, more erupting from the two holes. As if being shoved through, bloody, black wings sprouted from his back. Thousands of feathers each, blood dripping from them. I stand there in awe as he squirms under the pressure of the wings. His back is soaked in blood, his chest soaked in tears.
Thump thump.
My hand is still burning, but I can't feel it anymore. I'm focused on him.
The feather in my torso bursts into flames, and I look down just in time to see the flames die down. Bending over, I look at the wound. It heals within seconds.... There's no more pain... Looking up, I see Beau's outstretched hand, his eyes focusing on the spot where the wound used to be. He seems.... Powerful. His skin emits a strange, glowing light, that shifts from red to gold to blue.
Thump thump.
What is that thumping noise? I at first had thought it was my own pulse, but my heart is slowed by now, and the thumping is speeding up,
Thump thump.
He looks up, hearing it too. We both look around in confusion.
Thump thump.
He looks at me, and his eyes appear to be older. Like those of a man who's been alive hundreds of years, shielding secrets and wisdom.
"Vanessa" His voice cracks. "You have to be careful. He's not what he looks like. " His mouth moves, forming the words, but it is not his voice. He himself looks startled by it. "He's not human. He's dangerous." It's Luke's voice. "Get as far away from his as you can." By now Beau was furious, and tried keeping his mouth closed. Turning around, I try the door again, and it opens. Without taking a second look back, I plunge forward into the darkness ahead.
Thump thump.
Thump thump.
*end nightmare*
"VANESSA! OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW!"
