Every single person on the planet grows body & pubic hair, it's a natural part of growing up. "From an evolutionary perspective, it has a biological function for our bodies in helping to protect against diseases. In our modern day society, with access to better hygiene, undergarments, etc., there isn't so much of a need for it anymore. And as media has come to dominate our world, it has pushed an agenda where women are expected to remove it whereas men don't have to."
Women are expected to go bare due to the major influence people have from the porn industry, it traces back to the 80s, where women in porn started going bare for easy access and so viewers could catch more of what was going on. Whereas men commonly don't feel this pressure, with about only 10% of men choosing to shave.

Why do girls shave down there? As I stated above, today's society pressure teen girls to shave our natural hair to appear 'feminine' or 'clean'. Most of us do it for aesthetic/hygiene reasons. Some women prefer the way it looks when it's kept neat and short. Some girls prefer it natural though.. and that's totally okay. Either way it should be about what makes you feel most comfortable and confident.
What are the pros and cons of shaving? The obvious pros would be, it's (according to several polls) more aesthetically pleasing and gives a more clean & sanitary impression. Having no hair can make it easier for you or others to access your vulva. It can help with confidence, considering it's more socially acceptable to have no bush. There aren't any health benefits from shaving your vagina tho!
The cons would be, your vagina would generally look like a child's (if you go totally bald), it's scientifically proven that having no pubic hair can disrupt your vaginas natural pH level causing higher chance of yeast infections, and sexually transmitted diseases, plus major risk of ingrown hairs and cuts!

What are the hair removal techniques? Shaving, Waxing, Laser, Sugaring & Epilating. I would look up all of these and figure out which one would suit you best.
