      They met beside a river, by this boggy and wet moor. She still remembers the flashes of a grey sky and pale hands saving her from peril.

      She had been skipping on the fields behind her grandmother's house, when the ground beneath her feet unexpectedly vanished and she was falling into an endless abyss, but a pair of cold hands saved her at the last minute.

      When her heart started beating again, she lifted her eyes only to frown in confusion at the boy before her wearing old-fashioned clothes. Without a blink of her eyes, she asked if he was her father, because she had seen the man wearing the exact same outfit in pictures before.

      He only smiled in a weary and tired manner, and sent her off to her grandmother with words that bothered her so much in the next few years, you will know in time.
