'Hey there' you first said to me
I wagged my tail happily
Could you be the good guy?
Someone who won't make me cry?
I am in need of a home
Some place where I won't feel alone
You took me with you
For me it was too good to be true
I didn't expect home to be cold
I didn't expect you to scold
I thought this was a better place
What's the use of a shocking necklace?
At least I met some friends
Sadly, their lives will soon end
Is this our true destiny?
Or to be man's company?
It's annoying when something itches
But I'd rather have fleas than bruises
Would you care if I'd die?
If it were you who would, I'd cry
All I still see is black and white
Even though I only have one eye
I cried when they took you away
I barked, wishing you would stay
To them, you are a criminal
To you, I'm just an animal
But for me, I see you differently
To me, you're my family
