Since Gabe didn't look anything like a twenty-year-old, let alone old enough to seem to be in his first year of college, yet he had to go to school. As much as he despised the idea, Gabe knew that since Mystic Falls is a small town that a seemingly seventeen-year-old not going to school would be suspicious. So that's why Gabe stood in front of his locker, grabbing his needed for his next class that just so happened to be history. As if the thousand-year-old witch hasn't had enough of history.
Gabe looked around the room, surprisingly he was early. As he sat down in a random seat, a dark haired boy stood looking down at Gabe angrily. With disinterest, Gabe looked back up at the boy. "You're in my seat."
"So?" Gabe asked, confused why someone would even fight for a chair. It seemed preposterous to him, but then again that was what the teenagers of the twenty first century thought of.
"So? Get out of my chair." The kid hissed, to say Gabe was annoyed was an understatement. Who did this kid think he was? The King of the jungle? No. Gabe wasn't going to be bossed around by some jock who acted like a total prick. If no one was going to do anything to teach this anger magnet, then Gabe was.
"Listen," Gabe looked down to see the person's books, one of them had his name written on it. "Tyler, I'm not taking any popularity crap from you. So if you want a seat so bad, find one yourself, there are twenty more open seats." Gabe gestured to the half empty classroom. "I'd be careful around me; I know your little secret. Your disease is always worst on a certain day of every month." Gabe whispered to the werewolf. "Werewolves. What is up with their anger problems?" The witch muttered to himself when the wolf moved.
Then everyone else started spilling into the room. Gabe first noticed Stefan, his 'hero' hair all perfect and ready for another school day. After Stefan was the doppelganger, Elena. It annoyed Gabe to no end that there was another doppelganger, not only did it mean another person to look after because of blood, but it meant another person to mess up plans. The fact that Elena and Katherine looked like mirror images of each other didn't help. After Elena, was a witch, a Bennett witch. Gabe knew the witch's ancestor. Emily Bennett was one feisty witch, which was why he and her got along so well. They both had strong morals.
[1864, Mystic Falls]
Emily Bennett sat in front of a very dapper looking Gabe, the two were riding with Katerina. All three were invited to the Founder's Ball. Damon had tried to convince Gabe to sign up, but the immortal witch refused. Gabe had said, "I don't wish to dance a stupid dance only to get judged. It's pointless."
Damon had argued back, "It's a way for you to find a beautiful woman to court." But Gabe was stubborn, so no one was able to change his opinion.
So there Gabe was, watching as the young danced and the old chatted. Emily Bennett walked up to him, she could tell that he was a witch. "You seem to be enjoying this, Mr. Perlite?"
"Am I that obvious? I'm thrilled to be at this community party." The seventeen-year-old drawled out the world 'thrill', clearly Gabe thought that this party or some sorts was a waste of his time. Sure the boy liked parties, but usually he tended to shy away from them.
"I know exactly who you are." Emily Bennett was not one to stall. She immediately knew who the immortal witch was when she caught sight of him.
