Madison's P.O.V

"Nate stop!" I scream into his face. Suddenly he pushes me up against a tree. I struggle for freedom but he was too strong for me. "Nate look at me! Its your best friend Maddy!" I yell while looking into his dark deep blue eyes. His face relaxes for a moment as he stares back. He stares for what seems like seconds but before I could even blink I feel a sharp pain. Suddenly an annoying ringing noise pounds my ears. I open my eyes and Im back in my room.I slowly open my eyes barley seeing a hint of sunlight shining through the newly made curtains. As I lift my heavy head up I turn off my alarm and lift my body off the bed.I walk into the bathroom and grab my toothbrush without looking in the mirror. Today I felt strange. As if everything that I usually do I was not doing. I had a queasy feeling in my stomach telling me something is going to happen today but I ignore it.I look into the mirror and see myself. It was a tall olive skinned girl with dark chesnut hair and beautiful chocolate brown eyes. This girl in the mirror looked sad. She didn't look like the Madison everyone new last year. I started to remember the dream I had. Something was wrong with Nate in that dream. His eyes had turned a bright red color and he looked as if he was a.... a monster. The smell of Aunt Amy's famous blueberry waffles interrupted my thoughts. The smell slowly led me downstairs.

"Morning Maddy!" said Aunt A trying to look as if she were happy. I gave her a quiet good morning back. "So what will it be? Coffee or waffles?" she said. "Coffee's good." I mumbled. "Gee someone must of woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" she said sarcastically. I grew angry but I just kept it in my head. I cant believe she said that. She knows why i'm this way.Ever sense my parents died I have been this way. I hear heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and I try to put on my posititve face so I can be a good example for Cooper. As he steps into the kitchen he looks the same way as I am. His face was pale and he had dark circles under his eyes. He gave me a quick look then quickly walked to the kitchen table. "So Cooper want some waffles I made them special for you!" said Aunt Amy. He looked at Aunt Amy for a moment probably thinking the same thing I was thinking earlier. "Im good." he said under his breath. He got up from the table and put his hood over his head and stormed out the door. "Cooper!" me and Aunt A both yelled. There was no response. We gave eachother both a worried look. As she slowly went back to make coffee for herself I went back to the kitchen table. There was an awkward silence that seemed like it went on for hours. As I got up and grabbed my backpack I looked at Aunt Amy. She looked the same way we all looked. "Hey... are you ok?" I asked sympathetically. "She slowly looked up with tears in her eyes. Without thinking, I gave her a meaningful hug and cried with her. "This is hard for me Madison." she whispered. "I know, I know." I said while rubbing her back.

Suddenly I heard a honk. It was Nate. I have Aunt Amy a big hug and ran out the door putting on my positive face again. I was so excited to see him. I had been in my room all summer crying about the car accident. So this was the first time I would see him in months. Nate was waiting outside the car  and he had the biggest smile on his face ever. I ran up to him the fastest I had ever run and gave him a gigantic hug. "Nate Oh my god I have missed you so much." I whispered. I felt his cheeks warm up and him smile. He suddenly pulled back and had a worried expression on his face. "Maddy are you ok?" he said concernally. I didn't prepare for what to say. I stuttered for a moment and I only got- "Hanging in there." out of my mouth. He smiled at me again and gave me a quick hug. We hopped into the car. "So how's little gilbert?" he asked. "I don't know anymore." I said while staring outside the car window. "It will be ok. Nate always makes it better anyway." he said trying to crack a joke. I laughed without fake laughing this time. It was good to be back.

"OH MY GOSH MADDY!" I heard a Fimiliar voice scream. As I turned around a short blonde girl was running towards me. It was Quinn. She gave me a huge hug. I looked over at Nate awkwardly. He laughed teasingly. "How is she? Is she good?" She asked Nate. Nate looked down and noticed I grew annoyed. "Quinn im right here." I said angrily. "And I'm fine thank you." I said. "Ugh Really." She said as if she didn't believe me. "Yeah really..." I said awkwardly. She gave me a big hug again. "Ok Quinn..." I accidentally said out loud. "See you later?" She said while starting to walk away."Ya!" I tried to say as Happily as I could. I turned back to Nate and he looked amused. "Wow blondie sure does not believe you." He says sarcastically. I push him lightly and we laugh.

Nate's P.O.V

Quinn suddenly walks up with her big, fake smile. I notice Maddy's facial expression turns annoyed and all I can do is laugh. Quinn had always been that annoying cheerleader blondie bitch and that's why neither of us really liked her as a close friend. At least she thought we were her close friends. "How is she? Is she ok?" Asks Quinn. I suddenly grow rage at Quinn. I could tell she was being this way on purpose. To hide it I looked down awkwardly. Maddy suddenly snaps back and I start to laugh again. A little cat fight was going on between them but Quinn tried not to show her anger. As she walked away Madison looked at me still annoyed and I laughed. I cracked the stupidest joke ever and felt a little embarrassed. But surprisingly she laughs alongside and pushes me softly like how any girl would push a guy. We both laugh losing our breaths.I suddenly stop and watch her. I can't stop. She looked so happy but incredibly sad at the same time. I started to think about last night. I couldn't believe Matthew was back in town. He seemed different. I brush away my thoughts and keep staring at Maddy. But now she is staring at me confusingly. "Nate?" She asked. Every time she said my name I felt a tingle in my stomach. I didn't know what was with me lately. When I'm around Maddy it feels different then usual. But a good different. Suddenly the bell interrupts my thoughts. "Yeah?" I reply a little late. "Why were you staring at me?" She said while cocking her head. "I was just thinking." I reply. She stares at me with her big chocolate brown eyes and then interrupts her deep thoughts with a "ok."

Madison's P.O.V

As I finish putting my belongings in the car, I feel a random gust of wind and turn sharply behind me. Everyone else didn't notice it. I looked back one more time and then walked to the front seat. As I opened the door there was a light brush on my back and shivered. "STOP!" I yelped a little to loudly while turning around. No one was there. I slowly turned around making sure no one would scare me. Everyone was staring at me. They probably thought I was going crazy after what happened.I got into my seat still feeling very paranoid. Before I could shut my door there was another gust of wind and a blur of a person appeared.I screamed so loud it probably echoed through the whole state. It was a man. He gave an evil smile. "HELP ME SOMEONE!" I yelled. "They can't hear you Madison." he said slightly amused. He knew my name... I kicked him as hard as I could but he didn't move an inch or even flinch. He laughed. I screamed the loudest I had ever screamed. "I told you Madison they cant hear you!" he said rudely. He suddenly leaned in to where our lips were almost touching."Poor Madison so fragile.... Nate would never forgive me if I hurt you." He said while rubbing my cheek softly. I slapped his hand as hard as I could and he didn't flinch AGAIN. "Who the hell are you and how do you know Nate?" I screamed. He laughed a little to much. "Here Madison I will tell you but look into my eyes." he says. I am not that stupid. I knew he was going to lean in and try to kiss me. But I still did it.He started to lean in  and I squirmed like when a child gets their shot. "Look at me." he said firmly. I looked at him. His bright blue eyes started to dilate. "Now Madison, You will stay calm and not scream, squirm or talk you will sit there normally." he said slowly and clearly. The dilating finally stopped and he looked away. "Umm what the hell were you doing?!" I yelled. He sharply turned towards me with confusion in his eyes. He looked down at my necklace. "Shit." he said to himself. He let go of the door and I shut it as fast I could and I backed out of the parking lot. As I started to drive away he was gone.
