I stared at Eun Bi, her back leaning against the railing of the bridge under the starlight.
The sudden sight of her made me shudder, even though I knew I'd see her here. She was expecting me after 2 hours of deleted text messages, to get the words just right.
"What is it?" She asked when she saw me. She was shifting from one foot to the other, crossing her arms obviously cold from the wind chill.
I wish I could do something about it.
Her eyes were a faint red, like she'd been crying which was exactly what I didn't want to see, but they somehow still managed to shine brighter than the night sky.
I scratched the back of my head, as I try to force the pace of my heart beat to slow, but instead the spark got stronger.
The feeling I knew so well from the past was coming back.
I ignored it as much as I could, getting my words together.
"Eun Bi. Please understand me. I love you. I've loved you since day one. He doesn't care about you, not like I do."
"Yi An is a good person." She blinks, and I swear I see dampness overflow at her cheeks, but I tell myself I'm seeing things. "You are selfish, Tae Kwang. He cares about me."
"I cared about you first. I loved you first. You belong to me." I said quickly, not even putting my mind into the words.
"I do not!" She stomps her foot harshly at the ground, making me step back a little.
I never saw her like this before. I wonder what's happened since then.
"Eun Bi." I start. "You are my princess. You belong here with me. You don't belong to Yi An."
The second it slips from my mouth, I knew I've blown it. I'll never have her now. There's no chance.
"I belong to nobody." She scoffs, turning her twinkling eyes away, and taking off the opposite way down the bridge.
"Wrong. You are mine." I mumble, hoping she would turn around and agree with words she never heard.
