There was a house, once of the finest of riches. A mansion stood alone under the watchful eye of queen Victoria's reign. Surrounded by fields. A small town lay north. There lived a man. Hated by all inhabitants of the community. The poor deprived town ever taxed by the baron. They could scarce survive. The man and his wife thrived in the wealth. Her love of money, so strong. Twenty four servants at beckon and call. They lived in the mansion – sat on a hefty lump of money and riches – inherited from the man's father or cheated out of the kind hearted townsfolk. Despite all this the baron had a problem, gambling of the sorts. He couldn't stop. All was lost. The wife soon fled for she had lost the one she loved – money. The servants followed. Alas all hope was not gone, for one stayed – a mere girl of fourteen. Cared for the man and the slowly becoming derelict building did she. This girl - so unique – for she had a secret, one so great that she took it to her grave. Only a matter of weeks later...
It licked up the mansion walls, the great building engulfed in flickering amber tongues. All that remained of this great build settled upon the foundations – ashes.
The news of the devastation spread through the town like wild fire. No one cared. The man hated throughout the land. The girl nothing of which was known.
The debris smothered in soil. The tragedy covered over. The loss to be forgotten. Fields now lay over the mansions former glory. No bodies ever found. No traces of the building ever discovered. The secret lies untold. So the mystery remains. The hunt is on to uncover a lost treasure of time.
