Falling For You

i froze as we came through the door. my dad was standing infront of me with his back to us staring at the other host club members with shaking hands as they stopped playing with sumi and looked at him with shocked faces. "where is Dakota?" dad asked with an emotionless voice. i felt my happiness die within me when i heard his tone. "here." i said quietly from behind him. he turned and i could see his intent on his face. 

without a word he backhanded me. the force of it made me fall back into hikaru who surprisingly managed to catch me through his shock. "you stupid little boy." dad said with anger dripping from his every word. "how dare you leave my daughter with your shady friends and go off to god knows where to do god knows what!" he yelled. 

i flinched and put my hand to my stinging cheek. "We adopted you because we where told you where the most responsible! i guess that means they had none that could handle babysitting!" i stared blankly at my feet as the host club stared in shock at both me and my dad. he was about to raise his hand again but stopped himself and turned to sumi. "sumi, did these thugs hurt you?" 

she had tears in her eyes as she shook her head no. then he looked at everyone before saying "i don't want any of you to come back to my house again. tomorrow will be the last time you see this boy again. he's not worth the trouble of keeping." 

i could feel the tears start to build up but held them back. another family is sending me back. nobody wants me. nobody could ever want me. just like dad said. "your wrong." someone said. i looked up and saw all of the host club glaring at dad. haruhi was the one to speak. 

"i may not know Dakota very well but ever since the moment i met him, he has been looking out for other people. you should be grateful he stuck around for as long as he did!" i stared at her wide eyed as the rest of the hosts agreed with her. 

hikaru put his arm around me before asking "Dakota would you rather come stay with me and koaru at our house? until we get all of the legal stuff figured out for you?" i was stunned as i stared into his beautiful amber eyes. i felt the tears spill over as i nodded in slight shock. he smiled warmly at me and said "then lets go get your stuff." i led him past my dad and the hosts and up the stairs. to my room.

^-^ Hikaru's pov ^-^

as he led me to his room i couldn't help but beat myself up. what was i thinking asking him to come to our house??? i mean yeah he needs help i felt i needed to help him but i should be staying away from him! there are times i almost mistaken him as a girl! like earlier, when he smiled at me and said he could tell the difference between me and koaru. 

if im not careful he may turn me gay. and here i am making it harder on myself than necessary. i was slightly surprised when he turned into the open doorway of the first room up the stairs. upon entering his room i was even more surprised.

 his room was completely bare. the bed had plain white sheets, the desk completely clear of anything, and the floor was spotless. it was almost military like clean, instead of teenage boy like clean. he went to his closet and opened it, pulling out a small suitcase. then he expertly put his cloths in so all of them fit in the one small suitcase. he grabbed a phone charger that was on his desk and rolled it up before putting it in his ever present jacket pocket and turned to me saying "ok, lets go." 

i looked at him confused as i asked "that's all of your stuff?" he nodded and seemed a little embarrassed. so i dropped the subject. we went back down and saw all of the host club standing stiffly by the door waiting on us with Dakota's dad and little sister sumi watching them. 

Dakota walked right up to his dad and smiled at him before hugging him and saying "i know it didn't work out with me being here, but i wanted to thank you for giving me a chance." then he turned to sumi and grinned huge as he said "alright sumi, tell big brother ko goodbye!" he smiled and hugged dakote before saying "ill see you when you come home ko!" he froze and shook his head "no sumi. im not coming back. but i will always be your big brother! if you ever need me then call me and i will come save you ok?" he handed her a slip of paper, presumably with his number on it. 

sumi looked like she would cry "why?" she asked. Dakota smiled sweetly and said "because that's what big brothers do!" then hugged her tightly before turning and walking out the front door with his head held high. i looked at koaru and we smiled at each other before chasing after him with the rest of the club following close behind us.

 he was waiting for us with his school bag slung over his shoulder and suitcase at his feet as he looked up at the night sky with a sad smile on his face. i felt a feeling of awe fill me as i stared at his face. he really did look like a girl sometimes. he turned and his smile became happy when he saw us. my heart skipped a beat when our eyes met and i felt a slight blush raise to my cheeks. what the hell is wrong with me? im not gay! 

tamaki pulled haruhi into his limo along with kyoya and honey and takashi got into our limo with us. Dakota turned around and watched out the back of the window as his house disappeared into the distance. when he turned back around i could see the tears threatening to fall once again. i sighed and took my jacket off slinging it around him because he was sitting next to me.

 "get some sleep Dakota-kun." i said looking out the window angry at myself for thinking he was adorable when he cried. "you must be exhausted." he nodded and i felt him lean his head on my shoulder making an intense heat raise to my cheeks. koaru gave me a confused look. after we dropped honey and takashi off koaru checked to see if he was asleep. 

when he deemed it safe he smirked at me and asked "what happened?" i shook my head before muttering "i'm not even sure." koaru looked even more confused so i explained what happened, leaving out the way my heart squeezes and stomach flutters when he smiles at me. koaru smiled at me laughing slightly as he said "you're such a softie hikaru!" i rolled my eyes and looked back out the window as i put my headphones in. falling for you by colbie calliet played the whole way home.
