Emily

    I woke up on the beach. Seaweed, crabs, starfish, all kinds of sea animals are scattered along the beach, including me. Anyone could see me now. People could be cleaning up the beach and find me. Use me. Take me. Kill me. Test me. Me. I wanted to get up and move, but I couldn't. I just lay there.
    I closed my eyes and rested there.
    I awoke when I heard footsteps. Closer. Closer. Closer. They stopped.
    "OMG..." Said a voice. I opened my eyes. A young human girl with short chocolate-colored hair, a blue tank-top, and jean shorts stood above me. She started at me in awe. I froze. I had been discovered. What now? Will she kill me? What? I just waited.
    Too much waiting. I got scared. I flipped my tail and waved my arms, flopping around. She put her hand up for me to stop and tried to calm me down. No! She wanted to kill me for all I knew!
    "Stop!" she yelled. "I won't hurt you!" I stopped and faced her. She smiled and sat down. "Listen, it's okay." I calmed a bit. She seemed soothing. I smiled.
    "Hi." I answered. She gasped.
    "OMG OMG OMG!!! You can talk! Hello! My name is Emily!" She exclaimed. I laughed.
    "Calm down, Emily. Nice name. I am Pearl. Nice to meet you." I said. I reached up my hand and she grabbed it. We shook hands.
    "Need help?" She asked. I nodded. Emily grabbed my arms and pulled me into the water. It felt nice back in the water.
    "Thanks so much!" I replied. "I got stranded here last night."
    "Yeah, there was a big storm. It was all over the radio." Emily answered. I raised an eyebrow.
    "What's a radio?" I asked.
    "Human stuff."
    "Well, thanks again for helping me. I'll see you soon. Like by the dock." I explained.
    "Okay." Emily said. She stood up and started to walk away.
    "Wait!" I cried. "I have to tell you something. I have always dreamed of becoming human. Now I found a potion. The ingredients are all on land. Can you do me a big favor and get them for me?" I asked.
    "Sure. What are they?"
    "A drop of human blood, grass, Aqua blue dye, and a rose petal." I said.
"Got it. Bye." Emily said. I waved and she walked away. I swam back to home. Maybe, just maybe, I could become human.
