The World's Oldest Woman Is Still Alive!

I heard on the news early today,

That the world's oldest woman had passed away.

As sad as it is, it's not factually right,

Even though she lived a very long life.

Call me pedantic, but isn't it journalistic abuse,

To claim she's the oldest when dead, then call it news.

The moment she snuffed it she lost the honour,

And the elderly lady became just a 'gonna'.

I don't wish to lower the tone,

But the old dear has now vacated that throne.

Surely the world's oldest woman is still going strong,

Until, of course, she pegs it and they again get it wrong.
