Kharter
I rubbed my eyes open as the sunlight peeked through the blinds. Birds were chirping and it looked to be a beautiful day outside, but I'm stuck here in hell. I glanced at the digital clock that stayed on the wall and the time read 8:45 . There was a slight knock on the door and I told whoever it was to come in. It was an older Hispanic lady with her hair tied in a tight bun and wearing a maid outfit. She carried a tray of breakfast food, which looked absolutely delicious.
"Good morning," she welcomed me with a smile on her face.
"Good morning," I returned back with a slight smile.
"I'm Rosa, the housekeeper. You must be Kharter, Mr.Thomas' girlfriend," she smiled with a genuine smile, clearly confused on what's going on.
"Girlfriend?"
"Yes ma'm, he said you came in from New York," she smiled at me.
"Wow," I sighed, lost for words.
"Enjoy breakfast, Mr.Thomas says he has a long day for you two," she smirked.
"Excuse me, Ms.Rosa?"
She was about to leave, but turned and looked at me with a smile.
"Yes?"
Should I tell her that I'm not his girlfriend, but instead being held captive?
"Thank you."
"You're welcome," she smiled at me again.
She left the room and I sighed. I fought against telling her the truth because what if she was like Demetrius? What if her kindness is just a charade? Can I just be like normal person and not have so much drama in my life. My stomach growled as it interrupted me out of my thoughts. I started to eat the breakfast Rosa provided while watching T.V.

"How's mommy and baby feeling?" The doctor asked as she moved the thing on my stomach.
"You can see the baby's head, and it's long fingers. And- wow," she mumbled as she looked at my stomach.
"Is something wrong?"
I asked her as I tried to reposition myself.
"Looks like you'll be having twins."
"Twins?"
"Yes ma'm," she grinned at me.
I sighed and rubbed my head in aggravation.
"You alright?"
"Yes, just a surprise."
"Well, make sure you continue to take your prenatal vitamins, get plenty of rest, and take care of you and the babies.
Babies? Still doesn't sound right.
She gave the picture of the ultrasound and followed me to the lobby.
"Remember sweetheart, don't stress yourself," she reassured me as I left the clinic. I hopped into the car and sat in the driver's seat. My hands covered my face as I started to just bawl my eyes out. This is not how life was supposed to be and it's all my fault.
I finally left the clinic's parking lot and drove to Rico's house. As I pulled into the driveway, I seen a candy apple red Mustang in the driveway. I took the key out of the igniton and walked to the front door. As I was unlocking the door, the door opened.
