My day started with my usual rage attacks. Which means, I wake up, stressed and tired from being alone, sobbing into my pillow, smashing things, and hurting myself. Since everyone walked out on me, I haven't been the most "stable" to say. No, I just have depression and really bad anxiety. That's all.
I calm myself down, and go take a shower. Today, I smashed a bottle and cut my hands up. I watch the red water swirl down the drain, and when I get out, I bandage my hands. I quickly dress myself. I have to go to the grocery store today and get somethings. I brush my teeth, apply eyeliner, and grab my yellow bag at the door. I pull the big, front entrance open and look up to see two girls about to knock on my door. They look at me a second and I do the same back to them. I then realize they're my cousins who I haven't seen since I was six. They're fraternal twins, and look nothing alike. Megan and Morgan.
"What are... What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Coming to get you," Megan grins at me. I shift my weight and raise an eyebrow. "That's right, Kat. You're coming to live with Morgan and I. We got an apartment looking over at Big Ben like you always wanted."
My name's Kat Payne. My parents left my older brother, Liam and I, when I was sixteen and he was eighteen. He went and auditioned for XFactor, made it, and then left with his bandmates to go see the world. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him, but I also hate him for leaving me and not taking me with him. I'm nineteen years old now, and I live alone in an old apartment.
"N-now?" I ask. Megan and Morgan are the same age as me, they liked the same things as me when I was six, and I hope they still do now. They nod. "I-I need to pack I wasn't even prepared for this."
"Well, we'll help you!" Morgan exclaims. The twins push their way into the small apartment and look around. "Kinda dingy."
"Kinda lame," Megan adds. "You'll like the new place waaay better. Where are some boxes?"
The next two hours I help my cousins clean the few items I had out of my apartment, and get the boxes packed into their trunk. Seriously, this apartment sucked. It was a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. That's all. And they were all connected, no hallway whatsoever. I really hope this new place is better.
I didn't necessarily want to go live with my cousins, but they wanted it to be my 20th birthday present. I love them, don't get me wrong, 'm just not used to having people around. There's no going back now. They even had already called the landlord and told them I was moving out. I didn't even have to pay my final rent. I live in Wolverhampton, and now that we're moving to London I guess I have to quit my job. But that's OK I didn't like working in StarBucks anyways. All day I got to make coffee and watch girls Instagram pictures of their drinks. REEEAAAALLL exciting.
Megan and Morgan tell me about what they've been doing the past 13 years. They've been singing competitively, and they're even going to audition for the XFactor.
"-and we won't leave you like that stupid brother of yours," Morgan says from the back seat.
You see, one day Liam came home from his job and told me he wanted to try to go for XFactor again. He tried when he was 14 and didn't make it through, but he went back. And did make it. Liam used to sing to me all of the time when I was younger and I sang with him. I also played guitar. I haven't touched a guitar in three years. Almost four. I left mine at the apartment. The next person to live there will put good use to it.
The sky has faded to twilight. How fast the day has gone. I don't even remember this morning really except for when I look down at my bandaged hands. Morgan asks about it and I just tell her I accidentally broke something.
Well, this is how my life got started.
