''Why can't you just love me?!'' I screamed as metal-like tears poured down my face. ''Because you're a freak! An abomination to the human race!'' My mother hissed at me. Clutching at my hair I screamed so loud it shook the whole house making my 'family' lose their balance. ''Damn you all to hell!'' I growled as I fled out of the house running down the busy streets of New York. Why can't I be loved? Do I not deserve happiness? I sighed stuffing my hands in my pockets and walked down the stone paths of Central Park. I jumped up on the rim of a gorgeous fountain that was frozen over and walked on it as if it was a tight rope. Just then a rumble in the ground sent me wobbling off the edge causing me to accidentally let out my screech. Catching my balance I scanned my surroundings and saw everyone on their knees and clutching their ears. ''Freak!'' ''Monster!'' ''Ugly!'' People shouted and pointed at me making me cower and whimper. Stumbling backwards I knocked right into a firm chest. Turning around I whimpered again. ''Watch where you're going, you pathetic human.'' A husky voice scoffed. ''I know, I'm pathetic everyone tells me that even my own family!'' I hissed and spun around walking off. ''Wait!'' The voice called. I looked up at the the tall male that wore armor of sorts. ''What?'' I questioned. ''Aren't you cold I thought mortals are sensitive to high temperature?'' The raven haired stranger tilted his head. ''No. Temperature does not effect me at all. I'm immune to the cold. Besides, do I seem normal to you?'' I mumbled. ''Now that you mention it, I guess not.'' He hummed. Suddenly, I saw an alien like creature run towards me and I concentrated on my hands making my nails turn into ice-like claws. Slashing at the creature, I slid under it's legs. It turned to run at me again but someone intervened. ''She's with me, go on.'' The stranger waved his staff and wrapped an arm around my torso lifting me up easily.  ''Pulling me to his chest he gazed down at me. ''You intrigue me.'' He stated baffled. ''That's a first.'' I stated lowly looking down as a metal-like tear slid down my extremely pale skin. Using his sleeve he wiped the tear off my chin. ''Come with me my dear.'' He held out his hand motioning for me to follow him. Taking his hand, I intertwined our fingers.
