-Unknown highway- Around 9:00pm-2015-

I pressed my face against the cold car window. Tears rolled down my face unnoticed. Due to the rain falling on the car my parents were unable to hear the sniffles coming from my sadness. I knew things would never be the same.
"It'll be alright honey, Colorado has tons of great schools to make friends" my dad mumbled. I ignored him and sobbed on. My fathers job required him to move across the country. I thought of my friends and my school all gone forever.

Just as things started to get quiet up ahead around the foresty highway bend was a large eighteen wheeler which had started to loose control. The silence had quickly turned to panic when my dad noticed the truck and swerved to avoid being hit. But it was too late. The large truck was nothing compared to our small packed car. They crashed together, like the truck was a bull and the car a mere goat. Things went black.

I woke in a hospital. The room was bright and the windows were wide open showing the town beyond the hospital. It was big, or at least it looked big to a 15 year old. There were palm trees, but not the coconut ones, and Palo Verde trees. There was a large building in sight with pigeons lining the shaded part of the roof. The sky was clear and the sun was extra hot. The room did not have a get well card or balloon but instead some slightly burnt boxes lying next to my bed. Just as i started enjoying the view outside the window I felt a sharp pain on the side of my arm. When I started to roll to loot at it I noticed my leg was also in a cast. I tossed and turned for a bit then found the call nurse button.

The nurse entered the room trying not to look panicked. She smiled and said "What do you need hun?"
"Where am I, what happened last night..." I paused for a second and a tear formed under my eye "W---wheres my father?"
The nurse looked down and the smile she had on her face when entered the room was quickly gone.
"Im sorry, your father passed away yesterday. You and him were driving and crashed, he was killed almost instantly, but only to save you. If he hadn't swerved the car it would of been your life lost." I hesitated and looked around, i felt my heart drop, and my stomach feel like it was going to burst, the pain in my leg still stinging.
"Where am I?"
"You're in Arizona, you crashed on the highway not too far from here and you were rushed here. The boxes at your side is all they saved from the wreckage, after taking their picture evidence of the crash they sent these here to give you you. Once again I'm sorry."

I opened my mouth but nothing came out. The pain I felt was too deep. I had lost my mother years before to cancer, now my father was gone as well. I hadn't known anyone else from my family who could care for me. The nurse left the room and closed the large door and that's when I lost it. The tears fell like rain because the pain was too much to handle for a 15 year old.

Days passed and it was close to time for me to leave the hospital, but where would I go? I have no one. Just then a knock came on the door and in stepped a large heavyset man with a scruffy beard and a prosthetic arm he walks up to the bed, He sat in the chair and let out a long sigh and paused seeming to think of what to say.
"Listen" he said. " You don't really know me but my name is Rusty, Russ for short, I'm your dads brother...err umm your i'm your uncle, I guess you're going with me, im sorry it took so long to get here Arizona is a long drive from where i live" he grabbed my boxes and a nurse put me in a wheelchair and pushed me through the hospital and out the doors where I got into Rusty's truck and he set the boxes in the back and drove to his house.
