Chapter 20

*Britany's P.O.V.*

What the heck!!! Why the hell is this happening to me right now? Is he serious? I have to leave this apartment.Ignoring the fight that's about to go down Ashley and Taylor.I needed some fresh air,or get drunk or anything that'll make me forget all this chaos.I hurriedly exit the building,speeding off to the one place that'll make me feel better.

I pulled up at the familiar tree just right before that unforgettable lake.I sighed as I climbed up the small ladder that led to the top branch with just the perfect view of the lake and the moon that shone against it.I on the limb with my head resting on the log above it,closing me eyes;just enjoying the cool breeze hitting against my now pale skin.I almost forgot how this felt.

"Brittany?" A voice startled me forming a grin on my face,no it couldn't be,could it? "Joshua!" I squealed sprinting to my feet greeting him with a bone crushing hug.",I haven't seen you in like forever,why did you left?" he questioned me as we pulled away."Have you forgotten what happened? My parents died remember?" I replied and I felt my heart sunk a little as I mentioned them.

Oh yeah,my parents died in a house robbery and the most terrifying thing is that it wasn't even our house a and they were the only one who died,every body else just got a bit injured.My father had this business trip to Beverly Hills to meet these filthy rich people and unfortunately they had a break in.The robbers killed my parents thinking it was the rich couple.I was at home though when I heard all this and trust me,I was shocked,phased,scared,horrified.I couldn't believe it at all.The couple offered me to live with them but I refused to I just couldn't. They still insisted to help me so I asked them to help me with my modeling career.

I didn't realize that I was deep in thought until I heard Joshua,"earth is a wonderful place Britt,why aren't you here?" he said snapping his fingers in my face.I smiled smacking his hand away and he laughed,"no but seriously,why didn't you stay?" ,"come on Josh,I had to leave,no parents in that house alone?Nah I couldn't live with that" and his eyes softened showing some kind of pity."You know what?Let's not talk about that,what's done is done and it all happened for the best,so how have you been lately?"

We shared just about everything we missed out on,"have you heard from Ashley?" he asked and it took me a while to answer."Yeah,she's kinda staying at me and Taylor's at the apartment" I replied and he was now grinning from ear to ear,"is she okay? I mean,did she told you why she left? Was it something I did? I-","stop! Geez,I know you miss her but slow down a little" I laughed and he blushed."Sorry,it's just that,she's been ignoring my calls and texts messages.I tried to contact her on every social media I know" he said and I patted his back,"chill,there must be a perfect explanation for that" he sighed and I nodded.

"Did she mention it at anytime at all why she left?" he asked again and I shook my head no,"well it was worth the try.Look I have to be get going,it's getting kinda late and my mom is probably searching every house on the street for me" He said chuckling,"how is she doing though?" I asked referring to his mother."She's doing okay,just a few minor health problems here and there but she's catching on,you should come by sometime,I'm sure she'll be more than happpy to see you".I nodded,"I'll make a note of that" I replied and he smiling pulling me in a hug and stroking me hair,"I missed my best friend so much" I smile was plastered on my face and he pulled away,"put in your number,maybe we could hangout a bit,just like old times" I did just that as we bid our goodbyes and went straight home.Tonight wasn't bad after all.
