Chapter·02:
Welcome! Mr.Hardict?
·Aniyah-Carson Lovato·
My cellphone rang non-stop. It was when I looked and noticed the time. I jumped off of my bed. I ran into the shower, I showered the best I could in that limited amount of time. I ran out almost slipping and falling on my face. I hurriedly pulled on my undergarments. I then pulled on a wife-beater. I pulled on a pink, PINK written in black lettering on the sweatshirt, with black leggings and some pink and black LeBrons. I grabbed my bag and saw Jacole, the driver who's baby-mama drama made me NOT want to be a baby-mama.
"Sorry, I woke up late." I said putting my bag in the trunk while, running to get in. I came face to face with Mrs. Hardict. She's beautiful, she looked really familiar and very irritated. I smiled and surprisingly she smiled back.
"It's okay, love they missed their flight, My husband wants us to spend as much time as we can together. Since we will become best friends, why not go to breakfast and become more acquainted." She said. We drove in complete and comforting silence. I hadn't even realized I had fallen asleep, until Mrs. Hardict was lightly shaking me. My eyes fluttered open. I stretched my body, and looked at Mrs. Hardict's smiled.
"Do I have drool on my face?" I asked wiping the corners of my mouth. She shook her head, with a wider smile.
"You're like the daughter I've always wanted." She confessed. I just smiled, confused cause we just met. Then I remembered Mr. Hardict probably annoyed her with stories about me. When the door opened and revealed, a pretty little bagel shop. The smell of fresh bread being baked serenaded my nostrils. She found a table that had a beautiful view of the landscape.
"Okay, sweetheart order what ever you want. " Mrs. Hardict ordered me. I just smiled.
"Can I have a regular bagel, with cream cheese and grape jelly, with a small chocolate coffee?" I ordered. Mrs. Hardict smiled, I looked at her a bit confused.
"You said whatever I want."
"I know what I said, it's just my son gets the same thing every time we used to come here." She said, her smile faded. This dude was missing out on wonderful family time. Such a shame. Mrs. Hardict's phone lit up. I peeked at it and it blinked. 'The Boy' She answered.
"Hello?...Okay, we're on our way. Of course I won't be late." She spoke, with a sweet promising voice. When she disconnected the call, she continued to eat slowly. I stopped trying to stuff my face, and watched as she soaked in time.
"So your name is Carson?" She asked, sipping her coffee.
"No, it's actually Aniyah-Carson. Mr. Hardict rather call me Carson though." I admitted she nodded.
"That's a different name, the origin?" she asked, taking a slower sip of her coffee.
"I'm named after my Grandmothers and my dad." I smiled at her interest. She looked interested to hear more. But we had to go, so they wouldn't wait too long.
"Mrs. Hardict-" I started she held her hand up warning me she's had enough. I looked at her and she was shaking her head slowly.
"We're family no more 'Mrs. Hardict' okay? I know my husband has mentioned my name at least once. And if he hasn't, I'm putting his ass in a retirement home." She said, with a slight smile. I couldn't help but giggle.
"Halle, shouldn't we be getting to the airport right about now?" I asked. She gave me a face, I just adverted my attention to my cup of chocolate coffee. I was about to reach to see the price but Halle slapped my hands away. I didn't know what to do, except for stare in shock. She smiled and paid the $12.50 for our breakfast. She rose from the table and I shortly followed. We both waved goodbye to the kind elderly staffing that they employed. Halle's phone rang again, she just looked at it and tucked into her purse.
"Jacole, we're going to the airport now. No need to hurry though." Halle said, in a monotone. I was amused by her skill of un-acknowledging her son and his girlfriend's grand arrival. We slowly slid into the car. When we pulled off, we became silent. So silent I hadn't even realized I fallen asleep, again.
"What's your flights name again?. . .Okay. . .No sweetie we got lost. . .We as in, my friend and your dad's Co-worker. . .No she's one person. . .Yes she's your dad's assistant. . .Okay, what are you wearing?. . .Why is she wearing shorts with Louboutins, at an airport. . . okay we're on the look out for you now." Halle locked off the call, and sat back. it was when I started to hear the Candy Crush theme song. I knew she wasn't ready see her son. I then went on the lookout for a girl in shorts and long heeled shoes. I spotted it. When she turned around, she was wearing huge sunglasses and a crop top, practically exposing herself. I shook my head in shame. not even the hood rats on my block dress like that I'm completely covered and she barely has a string of thread on.
"My son is dating a stripper. " was all that Halle said, before putting a fake smile on her face. She climbed out and passed his girlfriend, I would've been hurt, but the girlfriend showed no emotion at all. Either she couldn't care less or she was one hell of an actress. I saw that Jacole was staring at her hard. I swear I saw her wink. When she did that Jacole shook in disgust. He then opened my door for me.
"I saw that, Jay." I whispered he looked at me.
"If any of my daughters dress like that, I would beat the skin off of them." Jacole whispered. I laughed. I didn't mean for it to be so loud. I ran over to the luggage and started to help put in the trunk of the car. It was when Halle tapped me, I looked at her she gave me that look. I looked at Jacole.
"It's cool baby, I gave you most of the heavy ones anyways." He smiled, and winked. He know damn well he don't want another baby, especially a big baby like me. I nodded then followed behind Halle.
"This is your Dad's assistant, Carson." Halle introduced me, I stepped to the right and waved with an honest smile.
"Carson, that's my son Hakiem, and his. . .thing, Aimee." Halle introduced.
"And the driver Jacole!" Jacole yelled. I laughed. It was when I heard a gasp. I looked over at Hakiem, I hadn't even realized he was staring it was when Aimee announced it.
"What's wrong with you, why you staring at her so hard."
"He never knew how so much clothes on a woman could be so sexy." Jacole blurted making Halle giggle me blush and Hakiem stare a little harder. I was starting to feel uncomfortable.
"I'm just gonna go over there and help Jacole." I jogged over to him and helped him. We started to talk.
"He was looking at you like, you look familiar or some shit. Did you have sex with another man?" He asked loudly. I giggled.
"No, I've haven't had sex since my freshman year of college." I whispered. Jacole's eyes busted out. I held my head low. He lifted it with his finger.
"That was your first and last time, huh?" he asked, I nodded. He smiled, it was a little too freaky for my comfort.
"I'm NOT gonna have sex with you." I smiled. His freaky smile just dropped.
"But. . .Whyyyyy??" He whined sounding like a child. I rolled my eyes.
"ANIYAH!!!" a deep voice yelled. I slowly turned around only to be bombarded with muscle and a very familiar cologne. It was when the mystery guy twirled me around, and settled me down slowly I realized just who he was. I looked up but the face in sight didn't fit the one in my memory, he was older, more masculine, deeper voice, full on sexy, and my boss' son. When I began to lose the ability to breathe in oxygen, I tapped his back, the usual eight times. He looked at me with a complete smile, I couldn't even pretend like I was happy to see him. I smiled, but I knew he saw straight through it. Cause I made no effort to hide it.
Hakiem David Anderson is THE Hakiem Hardict I've been expected to meet. I would've never did any of Mr. Hardict's paperwork knowing that I would see him again.
