Scarlet was a 14 year old run a way. Who was struck by lightning at the age of 10 and given the ability to tap in the natural vibration of living and nonliving objects .
But her powers come at a cost. Scarlet had a pretty bad home life her father was abusive and her mother was a heroine addict. Her school life was not much better she failing almost every class and on top of all that she was getting bullied. So she did what anyone would have done in her situation she ran a way.
When she left she only took what she thought she needed so clothes, money, a picture of her and her best friend Hannah who died in a car crash a few years ago. Then scarlet left home forever.
