|| Chapter One ||

Daniel Collins was known for being a monster. A heartless creature that attacked packs with no explanatory reason. Sometimes they thought they had a chance of stopping him and his little pack but that was a lost cause. Most of them died in the end while the others were either injured or had cowardly ran away trying to protect themselves. However, where would they go? The woods weren't exactly known for being a place where hope and happiness grew. So they ended up dead.

Daniel Collins was the Alpha of Dark-skull Pack. He was knows as the most powerful werewolf, more powerful than all the Alphas in the world combined - or at least that's what everyone thought. His strength was no match to anyone and that's why he always wins a battle. There's another fact for you, Daniel Collins always wins.

The ones who survived his attacks had once described staring into his eyes. They said it was like staring into a pool of hatred. Some people questioned if he even had a heart.

No one knew why he attacked packs. No one knew anything about Daniel Collins except the fact that he was dangerous, evil and a complete monster.

No one was able to stop Daniel Collins...and I doubted anyone will.

I hadn't personally met Daniel Collins and I wasn't eager to either. From the things that have been said about him, I wanted nothing to do with him. But I knew the day would come. The New-Crescent Pack was a huge one so I didn't once think he would miss it. In fact, my brother, Trent - who was the Alpha - knew it would happen that's why he was preparing the pack for it. Making them train harder and for longer hours.

"If he attacks we'll be prepared," my brother had said.

Except...we weren't

"Rose," I heard a soft but panicked voice say. I stirred in my bed hoping whoever was shaking me to stop and walk away before I kill them. Anyone who knew me also knew that I didn't like to be awakened from a deep slumber. I always ended up in a bad mood for the whole day.

"Rose," the same voice said. "Please wake-up."

"Go away," I mumbled into my pillow.

I felt someone's hand start shaking me harder which only resulted in me slapping it away and pulling the covers over my head. Can they not understand that I wanted to sleep? I had school tomorrow and I didn't want to look like a Zombie.

"Nick, she doesn't wanna wake up, what should we do?"

"Let me take care of that."

As quick as that was uttered, I felt the covers being removed and two warm hands wrap themselves around my waist - lifting me up. My eyes shot open just as my butt hit the ground causing a moan to escape my lips.

"What is wrong with you?" I screamed a scowl making its way upon my face as I stared at them. They both looked panicked and out of breath unlike all the other times where they would laugh at me. I stood up while rubbing my butt trying to reduce the pain. Something wasn't right here. "Guys, is everything alri-"

"No time to explain, we need to go." Kayla replied in a hurried manner that I barley caught what she was saying. She took hold of my wrist and dragged me outside. The cold air hit my naked arms and legs which made me start shivering uncontrollably.

"Kayla, can I at least get some time to get changed?" I asked. I - with no doubt - am going to have a cold tomorrow if I stay dressed like this. I was only in my pyjamas, and even though they were very comfortable, I didn't want to walk around the village looking like this.

"No!" Both Nick and Kayla replied in unison. What was up with them?

It was then that I realised the state the pack was in. Houses had collapsed, trees had burnt down and people were running around screaming their heads off. Children were crying on their mum's shoulders while they ran off looking for safety. It didn't look like a residential area anymore...
