'The devil doesn't come dressed in a red cape and pointy horns. He comes as everything you've ever wished for.' ~Tucker Max
три (Chapter Three)
Gavriil checked his watch for the nth time and sighed. He was still in a meeting with the board and they were going nowhere. He looked at his staff and frowned. They looked at him nervously with fear. He must admit he had a bit of a temper but not without reason. He quickly stood up and the man reporting in front stiffened.
"You're all dismissed." He signalled for his secretary but she was nowhere to be seen yet again. He groaned in frustration. "This meeting is going nowhere. I want new ideas for our company's profit the day after tomorrow. I'll see you all 9am sharp. Unless you have any excellent ideas... don't bother coming in to see me." He signalled to his vice and nodded. "Yes, tell my secretary she's fired. And find me a better one, alright? Someone who knows what she's doing." He growled as his now previous secretary walks in 30 minutes late as usual.
He shake his head and walk out of the room. The woman looked dumbfounded. She was about to follow him but his vice—Stephen stopped her.
Another day wasted. He rubbed his forehead and went inside his vast office. He sat down on his chair behind his desk and took off his tie. Feeling tired and frustrated at how his employees are. He shoved off his jacket and called his personal assistant in.
"Find me a new secretary. Also, make sure the department heads get their heads straight for tomorrow's meeting." He ordered sternly as he walked towards his ensuite room. He changed his clothes to a jogger and old university shirt. "I'm off for a run." He put his phone down and touched his smart watch. "I'm reachable if anything happens."
Jake, his personal assistant sighed at his orders. If he had side comments, he simply shrugged and nodded. The man had known him since he was a teenager. He was his grandfather's employee before he worked under him. Thus, he trusted the man. Jake also knew when he was frustrated with his job, which is why he simply asked, "Alright sir. Shall I accompany you?"
He shook his head. "No. Stay here and make sure they do their job. I'll be back after cooling off." He checked his clock. "You can knock off at 5pm. Make sure you pick up your grand kid after school." He smiled and reminded the old man, knowing he'll work his ass off and get himself sick again.
Jake smiled and nodded. "As you wish sir. But I had hoped you didn't have to fire another secretary." The man was like a close uncle to him and he take his advices close to his heart.
"I know Uncle Jake. But she wasn't fit for her job. Get me someone else. Someone better." He tapped the man's shoulder and grinned. "Otherwise how will I be able to let you go and have fun on your retirement? You know my grandfather is hoping to have you accompany him to play golf."
Jake shakes his head. "You're a hard man to please, I doubt I'll be retiring any time soon. Your grandfather will have to wait." He joked around as he goes out of his office.
Gavriil sighed and gone out of the building. He ran and jogged around the block. He didn't know where he was going but his feet seemed where to go. Up until he reached a certain diner downtown and went inside. The cold air of the dinner welcomed him. He looked around and wondered if she was here. Then as he saw her, everything seemed to stop and the atmosphere became too warm. He took a seat and waited for her to serve him. He took a look at the menu and sighed. It had been a week since he's been obsessed with her.
