I am your average, over-weight woman who has tried losing weight over and over again without permanent success. I say permanent, because let's face it, I have lost weight...for a month or two and then somehow it found me again. Not only did the original pounds find me, but they bring a few friends with them each time. It's like a party where you really don't want to show up alone, can't cancel out because you feel obligated so you bring another person to feel more confident.
I have spent the last three years really looking at what makes me tick. What makes me binge eat. What triggers my emotional eating and the reasons I am over-weight. I also did a lot of soul-searching and discovered I really don't like myself in this fat suit. I know I want to lose it forever and I want to share with you what I have learned.
Now, a lot of this you will have heard before. I know, because it wasn't new to me. I write it here as a reminder. You have to be mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally ready for this journey. I am going to share my thoughts on self-care and negative internal voices. I will share some yoga and meditation techniques with you. I will be giving you some ways to exercise that body of yours. I will also share what I have learned about my own struggles with emotional eating and challenge you to do the same. Oh, and we will of course talk about food. How you can eat anything you want, anytime you want and remain a healthy weight. Nottadiet is just that: It is not a diet. Diets don't work. Forcing ourselves to eat spinach for a week just isn't cutting it. Join me and discover a new way to lose weight and keep it off.
