Chapter 5: Falling towards the sky

Mission: Recovery
Brief: A Heretic has stolen vauable information about Legends, containing Weaknesses, strengths and full body analysis. Get it back no matter what, they cannot know this much about our greatest weapon.
Get ready ASAP and be out by dawn .

Vulcan never slept, he spent all night in the training using the martial art and close quarters simulation, this wasn't the first time he had done this. He was being observed by Dawson as Vulcan only did this on rare occasions but he was getting better, his reflexes were getting faster and his muscles were getting stronger. He didn't stop.
Steel walked in by accessing a hand print on the door, this was a violation but Steel did not care, his closet friend was having either attacks, mental issues anything. No one could speak to him.
"What his situation?" He walked slowly towards Dawson not knowing what he'd do.
"When he goes into this moment, his body completely enhances like he opens a box and when he goes through this physical training, it fills it up. Making him stay like this" He put up the body analysis of Vulcan's current status. Steel careful examined it all looking at the different layers of muscle, his reflexes and his brain.
He was more than a super soldier. But why was the question. To this day no one still knows why.
"Vulcan, this is Steel. We've got a mission to do"
He hit the last target and stopped. He raised his arm with a closed fist to stop the simulation. He walked off. Doing nothing.
"I go talk to him, see you when I'm back" Steel walked off, heading to his room for preperation.
Dawson stood there and put up all the body analysis of Legends. He stared and examined them all.

Vulcan prepared himself by putting on his helmet and picking up his double edged sword, clipping it onto his back. He never spoke a word.
"Vulcan?" Steel walked in when the rest of the team walked out to the Phoenix. Vulcan stood there and slightly turned his head to only just see Steel through the corner of his visor,
"Vulcan what's wrong, what's going on inside your head?"
"The end" he pulled up his tac-pad and turned his suit on.
Steel stood there in shock as he knew something was going to happen, he just had to figure what it was. He left the room and headed towards the Phoenix and snapped out of his mood. Steel preped himself and kept hold his hammer, he ran to the Phoenix to keep up with the others.

The Phoenix was a brand new Dropship that was unique as it costs a lot to build just one of them, it's capable of going into space and doesn't burn when coming back down. It's curvy design makes it extremely agile when in dogfights or emergency evacuation, the design also gives it extra armour plating as well as able to hide it's weapons. It has side doors which extend downwards with stairs like on a private jet as this saves room, it's inside has 8 seats and able to gold 4 heavy troopers (Bigger than Steel).

Vulcan walked up its back ramp looking at the others that were waiting for them "Plan - we head down the this space station just into the atmosphere, we take the jet packs and head in, just be careful we are heading into civilization".
Steel caught up "Don't shoot unless they shoot at you, we need the infomation"
They all agreed. Vulcan walked up to the pilot named Sam "Get as close to the edge of the atmosphere, if the Heretics have this stolen information then they're gonna protect it at all costs"
He nodded "Got it, I'll be on Coms if you need me"
Vulcan walked back into the the drop room, brining and equipping his jet pack. As they set off and headed out of the space station and towards earth Vulcan spoke "Listen up! These jet packs have parachuted on them for an easier landing and they're only meant to control our fall not actually fly"
Sam shouted in "Entering in 10" Vulcan turned around towards the opening of the ramp whilst the rest of his team stood behind him in a triangle formation, except for Steel. He went right next to Vulcan and held on to his shoulder and whispered "Don't die"
Sam shouted in again, slowed down and opened the ramp door.
"3....2....1"
Vulcan ran and jumped first letting gravity grab his body and yank him down, going faster than sound. Feeling the air resistance surround his armour trying to stop him but he'd reached terminal velocity, the others slowed themselves down but Vulcan didn't. He wanted this done quickly. He found this truly amazing soaring through the clouds, he looked to his left to see the sun over the clouds it is an experience just looking at the scenery.
Within 30 seconds to a minute, he spotted Heretic Aircraft so he took this as a opportunity.
"Kiser set up best plan for as many take outs"
Kiser had already started it, there were 3 aircraft on their own different altitude. One helicopter on the second level and their own drop ships, which we don't know the name of, on the first and last level. Smash through the first, shoot the second then smash the third, best option.
"Vulcan sending the plan"
He agreed and lined up straight away, the only way he could destroy the Dropship would be by smashing through it, the speed he was going at would allow him to just cut right through it and the power armour he was wearing would do little damage to him. He straightened his body and tensed his muscles in fear, of course.
He cut right through, leaving a big hole from where he went through. Looking to his left his HUD locked on to the helicopter, picking the contact grenade from his belt with his right hand and throwing it using his body weight by spinning, carrying the momentum, the grenade just launched into the helicopter blowing it up.
He activated his jet pack, wings came out like a jets, and thrusters initiated, Vulcan twisted his body so on the last dropship he'd land leg first, he aimed for the cockpit. Using the jet packs thrusters and Kiser's intelligents they used the thrusters at the right moment with enough power to slow him down to kill the pilot without hurting himself. Which he did with ease, he landed perfectly killing the pilot. He launched himself off the cockpit and flying into the streets.
"Vulcan! Missile iminent!" Vulcan instantly reacted by activated his parachute attached to the jet pack to slow himself the dropped so it would miss and carry on flying.

He landed on the back of a truck, quickly looking around he spotted the Heretic with the stolen information about 150 metres in front of him on the streets. He'd dropped from one of the dropships that he blew up, time slowed for both of them as they both knew they were looking at each other, Kiser analysed everything he could about his body,
"There's no sign of fear in him, he isn't afraid of dying so be careful"
Vulcan started his pursuit jumping from the top of vechiles to gain momentum, the Heretic did the same, he had the same speed as Vulcan all he could do was follow him till he was out of breathe or given up which was unlikely but a chance.

This pursuit on the vechiles didn't last long, he jumped on the roof of the of a small building and climbed up the next one in front of him, Vulcan climbed up a building next to him and starting using his parkour training to dash over the rooftops, the Heretic realised that he didn't stand a chance, he called in a evac on a position a few buildings ahead of him, Vulcan realised this when he put his fingers upto his ears.
"Kiser get a Phoenix Dropship ready, he's gonna call an evac"
Sam got his order and came in as fast as he could.
"Sam when I say come get me!"
The Heretic did a signal and popped a smoke grenade and a flare, this was a risk that he was going to take cause it could be a flaw but he didn't have a choice.
"Now Sam!" Sam came down next to him and opened the right side door, Vulcan jumped on put stayed hanging on the door holding a handle bar, he spotted the Heretic get on the dropship in front of him,
"Sam follow that ship!"
"Understood, raising altitude I'll give you a space to jump"
The dropship shot off into the air and the phoenix kept behind and slowly raised above it, Vulcan still stayed hanging on the side
"Get in front now" Sam activated afterburners and gained enough speed to get in front, Vulcan jumped from the door going feet first, he was either going to miss, land feet first or grab onto the wing.

He managed to land feet first, the Heretics opened the side door, which was a sliding door, three Heretics were inside not including the thief. He swung from the wing and booted one of the Heretics into the other wall, he was inside with one Heretic to his left and the other and the thief to his right.
He ducked straight away swivelling his body punching the left one in his neck with his left leg he kicked the right one into the thief, he picked up the Heretic that was down in front of him and shot him and the left one, the Heretic on the right disarmed him but he grabbed him by the neck and threw him out the side door, Vulcan became pissed. The thief got up and pulled out two knifes, so Vulcan pulled his sword out and detached them both.
The thief made the first using the right hand going for Vulcan's left shoulder, Vulcan counter acted by swinging his sword upwards disarming him. He didn't stand a chance. Vulcan swung his right arm disarming his right arm, he pinned him down and took the pouch off him and took the multiple hard drives out.
"What are you? You're not a Heretic"
"I'm a thief, I'm a mercenary, I do what others need"
"Well you've got a choice here, you either die here or I'll let you join us, you get information and we'll pay you" Vulcan took a parachute
"I think I'll take you up on that"
"Good, here" Vulcan gave him the parachute and hit the button on the side to open the back ramp
"Wait what are you doing?"
"We are both jumping"
Vulcan picked him up by his collar and jumped out the back, right on que Sam flew the phoenix with the back ramp open just behind the dropship. They both fell in, the mercenary looked back at the dropship and watched it blow up into smithereens, Vulcan helped him up. "Heretics don't want us to live no matter what so they detonated the ship after 2 minutes if we're aboard, what's your name?"
