This is a story I wrote a few years ago and I love it. So tell me what you think.

Young girls from all social classes were called to the "village" center. All were to be chaperon. Gabriel Humphrey sauntered across the stage examining the girls from the corner of his eye as he addressed the crowd. The girls in no particular order could be classified by the clothes they wore, stood nervously fidgeting in their "best" cloth and just as unsure as everyone else unsure why they were assembled. Gabriel Humphrey stopped pacing when from where he saw a boy not any older than twelve was standing next to one of the smallest girls; not in age but in stature. Gabriel Humphrey turned to the rest of the crowd announcing the reason the girls were upon the stage. Gabriel turned back toward the children walked a few paces toward the boy and girl and kneeled downed before the girl asking for her name.

"Rose, Sophia, Rose" she answered.

Gabriel Humphrey smiled, a terrible, bright smile and the boy standing beside the girl swore there was a glint in Humphrey's eyes. The boy protective in every way did not understand why the man, Gabriel, wanted little girls here or why he was talking to his sister but, he did not like it one bit.

Gabriel replied to the girl; he said his name... well it went like this "Hello, Sophia Rose. My name is Gabriel and you are very special to me. You see...." Gabriel stood and turned to the crowd, "This girl, Sophia Rose is very special to me because she is the future. She will learn everything of our history and decide the outcome of our future. For she will know for it is foretold/prophesied." Gabriel opened charismatically.

Kneeling down before the girl again Gabriel told her that she was going to do the "village" a great service, as he gestured to guards to collect the girl. Gabriel walked away yelling over his shoulder to trust the men she will be fine before stating to the crowd that the meeting was over. The boy watched with wide eyes as his sister was taken away yelling, screaming, thrashing scared at the unknown of what was happening. This story is not like others where the girl developed a power of some kind to save herself; nor is it the kind of story where the boy would develop power of some kind of magnitude. though they do have power it is buried deep within them taking form to blossom and come when they truly need it most like most other world powers. The boy did the only thing he could do, he hunched forward, jogged in place than placed one foot on front of the other running toward the man taking away his sister. Crashing in to them he bellows at his sister to run, run as fast as she can. As the men below him try to rise he pushes their heads into the ground before rising himself and taking off after his sister gaining speed as he goes. One he reaches her he grabs her hand and swings he up on his back running all the while like the hounds of hell were coming after them and in a way something similar and maybe more sinister was.
