The war was beginning. The men were dying, and the women were staying strong. The king of a small village in northern Mexico was ordered to send all women that were not married to fight in the war. The mother of a young girl named micaela set out on a journey to find a man to put a ring on her 16 year old daughter. This is legal in Mexico, but micaela doesn't know why. Her mother only wants the money. She doesn't care about her daughter nor will she ever. Micaela has fought her whole life trying to find a new place to live, but she has never been successful.
