Today is the first day of training. They came into her room screaming " Get up, Get up". This was scary for a sixteen year old, who has it rough, but not this rough. She thought war would be bad, but this seemed to be worse at the moment. Micaela got up and followed the women before her. They walked down to the lunchroom and got their morning grub. Micaela watched as alicia scarfed down her food like it was the only thing they would ever eat, but she understood, her life was like that, too. She decided to go talk to alicia, maybe they would be friends. Micaela walked carefully, passing the young women who were so bruised. She said to alicia " Hi, can we hang out. I would really like to be friends with you. I don't know anyone and I really wanna be friends. Please?" Micaela stood there another moment before alicia said " Hola, mi nombre es Alicia . No sé a nadie tampoco . me gustaría ser tu amigo . Lo siento por la forma en que te traté ayer. Usted es muy agradable . Lo siento que no puedo hablar Inglés ." Micaela's eyes were so big now. All of her friends aren't fluent in spanish, but she finally made one who was. The government made the schools paddle any students who spoke Spanish so they all forgot, except for micaela.
