The Boy

I walk outside and see Alicia waiting for me and I can tell just by looking at her she is about to explode. I start to walk even slower when I see her look at me just to tease. But she gives me one of those "don't test me" glares and I jog over.
"Hey wh.."
"THOMAS ASKED ME TO PROM!"
She screams before I can even ask anything. I feel a sudden pang of jealousy, but push that feeling down and away and smile.
"That's great!" I say while embracing her in a hug. I knew that Thomas would ask her to prom. They've had a thing now for like 3 months.
"Look who it is!" She whispers while jabbing me in the belly with her elbow.
I look to my right and see him.. I see the boy that I've known for years that still gives me butterflies, my neighbour and I'll never get the insanity or courage to talk to him. Jake Andrews. We've known each other for years. He is a popular guy. Plays football, has amazing features, he's the star athlete at our school and as some people would consider him he is a "bad boy".
"Stop staring creep!" Alicia yells.
"Alicia!" I whisper yell. Jake turns his head and smirks at me and looks at Alicia then back at me again and winks before going up his driveway out of view behind the abundance of trees all along his driveway.
"He is totally into you!!" She winks and gives me a flirtatious look, I roll my eyes and give her a hug.
"Congrats on Thomas, I have to go inside and study." I lied about studying.
"Okay message me on skype okay?" She looked at me with a sweet smile but concern in her eyes. I nod and head for the steps to my house. As I come into the house I hear a giant crash coming from the main floor. I sprint up the stairs and look around frantically, what happened?!
Ahhhhh!!!
I hear my sister scream and run towards the scared screams, as I turn the corner I see blood, a blood covered pot and my mother looking lifeless.
"NO NO NO! MOM!" I drop to my knees and pick up her head and set it on my lap.
"UNCLE BEN HELP!!!" I frantically yell as the hot tears start streaming down my cold face.
My sister is crying and all I can do is keep telling her it's okay. My brother Tyler comes around the corner and looks at me tears forming in his eyes.
"S-sweetheart I need you to just stay calm okay? You need to go get uncle Ben, take rose with you." I tried to say as calmly as I could. He nods and sprints down the hallway, with Rose trailing behind him crying. I look down at my mom and start stroking her hair out of her face and try to talk to her.
"Mama please talk to me... Don't leave me mama... Don't leave me here please I love you..." I whisper and the tears start coming down my face faster and more intense, I feel her slightly grip my hand and then nothing. All of a sudden I see my uncle Ben come up to the doorframe and see his face go pale. He comes over and pulls his phone out of his pocket, he dials 911 and puts the phone on speaker, as the phone rings he examines my mama and looks for the one main place she's bleeding from.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"Please.. Help us!" I cry
"Okay sweetheart okay what happened? What's going on?"
At this point I'm scream crying yelling at my mum to wake up to just please wake up don't leave us, my uncle Ben takes the phone off of speaker and talks to the woman on the other end of the line and explains what's going on. Not even 10 minutes after we call we hear the sirens coming up to the house. The paramedics came inside and took my mom on a stretcher and carry her out while trying to wake her up by CPR. I follow them outside and as they pack her into the van with my uncle behind them  I drop to my knees and cry. I have blood all over me, the kids came over and tried to go into the van but I held them back. Our neighbours the Jeffersons came over and offered to take the kids for me. I nodded my head unable to speak and I see something to the right I glance over ever so lightly and see him... Looking at me... He runs over and I stand up and face him. He looks at me and without thinking I just hugged him and to my surprise he hugged me back... And I cried into his chest. I didn't know what to do all I knew was that my mama.. May not come home. The kids are too young for this to lose their dad but now  their mama? Rose is 6 and Tyler is 8. What am I going to do?? I mean I know that we have my uncle Ben but he isn't our mama.
"Are you okay?" I hear jake ask.
"I d-don't w-w-wanna lose h-her.." I say through sobs and he soothes me and tells me everything will be okay.. But I don't think it will be.
"Want a drive to the hospital?"
"Please.."
He nods and helps me to his car and we take off to the hospital to meet up with my mama... And uncle Ben...
