Riley pov (that's Riley)

TRIGGER WARNING: ANXIETY

School was finally over, and I was walking home. Nothing better than to be home, alone.

No ones really home now 'n days. My parents separated when I was young and I love with my mom who is usually at work or whoreing around. She's a slut.

She's been a wreck since she was off with my dad. Apparently it was her fault. I remember when I was little.

My small feet walking down the stairs. I was woken up by mommy and daddy yelling.

"It was all you're fault!" Daddy screamed.

"I didn't mean to! Please don't leave!" Mommy yelled back.

"No! This was the last straw, you mother fucking whore!"

I've never heard those words before. What do they mean? I'll ask mommy later.

Then Daddy runs out the door with his phone and his jacket. The door is slam shut and it vibrates the whole house.

I hear crying, it's mommy. She's crying. I walk down the rest of the stairs and see my mommy in the kitchen. She's on her knees crying into her hands.

"Mommy?" I asked.

She looks up at me with tears running down her face.

"D-did we wake you up? Go back to sleep, everything's okay. Mommy and daddy are just having a little bit of trouble." She smiles. I nod and walk back up to my room.

That was when I was 6. It was 9 years ago. I'm 15 now, and in sophomore year.

I walk inside the house and walk immediately to my room. I hardly ever leave my room. Only for food and the bathroom. The house is pretty small, so my room is not the biggest. I have my bed, my dresser, a body length mirror, a shelf of books, and my ukulele. I play a little bit, but I'm not the best. All I ever do in my room is read, and when there's no books I go to the library.

I go to my small little library and grab a new book in reading. It's called between shade of grey. (It's a real book, nothing like 50 shades, but it's an amazing book. I highly recommend you read it.) I've only gotten to the first chapter, and it's already interesting.

It was about WWII. Sometimes I pretend I'm in the book I'm reading. I can understand more. And with this book I think it's sad how the character was removed from her home and was now treated badly. Just because her religion.

I barley got onto the third chapter when my phone rang. It was a text from my mom, that doesn't usually happen. It must have been something important.

I'm not going to home for a week.

Well, at least she cared enough to tell me. One time she was almost gone for a month and I didn't know.

She has a place where she keeps extra money. Aka for me when she's gone. She cares just the tiniest bit, and I'm fine with what ever I can get.

There wasn't anything to do, so might as well go to the store to pick up some stuff.

I walk down stairs to the kitchen and check what was missing.

*** (time skip because I don't want to bore you with a dumb info about getting ready for a dumb tip)

I was done getting all of the stuff I needed when I turned a corner and saw someone who I didn't want to see.

Him.
