Found in the Barn

When we pulled into the driveway of my house I jumped out and had to go feed the neighbors dogs. I walked towards the doghouse where the food and water bowls are and I hear a new sound. It was kicking and the sound of a screaming horse.

*The neighbors don't have a horse* I thought as I walked to the barn where the noises generated.

I slide the door open and I see a shadow although it wasn't bright in there.

The horse stood there staring at me. Those eyes pierced mine. The horse was a jet-black Morgan horse. Ill groomed and feet unpicked. I still stared and finally the horse turned its head away.

I walked slowly to a hook where a halter hung with a lead rope attached. The horse looked at it carefully and shied away. I walked up to the horse and pulled out an apple I had brought for myself. The horse ate and while it did so I hooked on the halter. This was a stallion. Pure-bred Morgan horse.

I find cleaning supplies, left by the last owners of the barn, and washed the horse dried him picked his feet and brushed him.

I decided, while grooming him, that he shall be called --
