"$60."

Tyler stretched a few bills towards the old lady. She took them with trembling hands and gave all of her flowers to him. He smiled and I swear my heart skipped a beat.

"T-thanks. You just promised my family 2 square meal for a week."
My heart swelled and I gave Tyler a proud smile. He took my hand and we started strolling casually in the busy streets of Manhattan.

Tyler and I are best friends since diaper days. Hell, we popped out of wombs only 14 minutes apart. I have loved him for as long as I remember and apparently its vise-versa.
My biggest dream came true when he asked me out. He was adorably nervous and kept on stumbling on words. Why? Because this idiot has no idea about my feelings.

It's always been natural with him. Everyone knew that we will end up together before we did. Its not like we're hanging-out for first time, but we sure are hanging-out on a date for first time. This made me nervous.
A tug at my sleeve broke my trance. I looked up to find him staring at me in amusement.

"You up for being someone's sunshine? Apart from me, of course?" he flirted not-so-subtly and winked at me, making me turn beet-root. My eyebrows furrowed when he handed me half of the flowers.

"But you gave me roses when you tugged me out of the house?" he chuckled and set my cheek on fire with a peck.

"Contradictory to your belief, these flowers are not for you. Just follow my lead, fair maiden."

I rolled my eyes at his attempt at English accent and watched from the sidelines as he approached an old couple. He grinned at the lady and handed her a rose.

"Have a great day!" my lips quirked into a grin when the lady placed her hand on his head and blessed him. He turned to me and jerked his head in a 'let's go' manner.

That's how we ended up making random people smile by giving them flowers. And it was only the beginning for my perfect day.

What-if we don't work? Will our friendship stay? Will we-

"Chloe, stop." I frowned in confusion. "Stop over-thinking. Live in the moment. We will make it through. We always do."

I thought back to the times we fought, with and for each other. Many people and circumstances tried to drift us apart but they always failed.

I offered him a small smile "we will."

The cooes faded into distance as Tyler carried me bridal style. Why? Because I was blindfolded, duh.

He gently placed me on my feet and with a tug, removed my blindfold. I gasped upon seeing a deserted brick wall with paint supplies around.
Then it clicked- my favorite thing. I turn around to see Tyler rubbing his neck nervously.
"Graffiti?"
~
"That was awesome!" I mumbled into Tyler's neck who is giving me piggy-back to next spot.

Tyler and I did amazing graffiti but then I made a stick figure of him and a paint fight started. The sweetest thing was that Tyler totally saw it coming and even had a spare pair of his cloth for me.

My eyes widened when I took in the sight before me. Fairy lights illuminated the makeshift tent that was set under the open sky. My eyes twinkled in adoration as I stole a peck on his cheek. He turned pink and I chuckled.

Grumbling under his breath, he tugged me towards the tent which was made comfortable with pillows. I curled next to him as he switched on the laptop.

"You're battery's full!" I gasped. He mock glared at me.

"I wanted everything to be perfect for you, miss perfect. So, I obviously kept the to-do list in check." he winked.

"I am not perfect."

"You're far from perfect, Chloe but all those imperfections make you, you. And that for me, is definition of perfection."

I was awestruck. I just couldn't fathom how I got him.

Shifting slightly, he opened the basket and drew a casserole. I instantly knew what was in there. His speciality and my weakness.

"Lasagna?!"

"Lasagna."

I stopped mid-laugh when Tyler gently stroked my lip and brushed the sauce. I am still not believing him when he says that he planned this date for only a week because damn, he worked hard.

Unlike normal people, we didn't watch a movie, we saw a slideshow, Tyler made of our memories. I laughed and cried out of joy, reminiscing the amazing time we spent. It was refreshing to have a trip down the memory lane with someone you shared it with.

My eyes refused to leave his blue ones. The slideshow was running, but I didn't care. I was content. He discreetly reached for something and after a soft click, everything went dark. He even shut the glow of his laptop. My heart was thumping wildly and I tried to focus on outlines of his features in dark. With another soft thud, the blanket serving as tent was off us. He covered my eyes instantly and laid me down. A gasp escaped my lips when he removed his hand to reveal the most beautiful night sky ever.

I turned to face him only to find him already looking at me just the way I was looking at sky- with wonder. My breath hitched when he leaned closer.
A movement caught my eye from the peripheral vision- shooting star. I quickly closed my eyes and wished.

"What did you wish?"

"You go first."

"I asked first." he retorted with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes but replied nevertheless, slightly embarrassed.

"I wished for your wish to come true."

His grin widened. "Then make it true."

"How? What did you ask for?"

"You."

And with this, Tyler Winters kissed me under the stars and I swear nothing ever felt this right.
