Christine fled the phantom's lair hoping to go back but knowing she never could. The phantom was alone once more. He had no one to love. He vanished to his room where he wept tears of sorrow for his lost love. Knowing he could never see her again.
Meg went down to the lair and hear his cries. She went to see who it was and saw that it was the phantom. She was speechless. She wasn't sure of what to do. She sat by him and wrapped her arms around him to try to comfort him. He froze. Surprised at the woman's affection. But he slowly melted into her warm embrace.
When he was done crying, he asked "why have you come down here? Aren't you supposed to be on stage dancing?" She slowly looked up at him and looked at him with sadness in her eyes.
" I had to know the reason for why you almost killed Raoul" She said.
"He stole what was meant mine. He stole my Christine from me and now I have nothing but the empty music in my head. Reminding me of her sweet angelic voice. I will never again know happiness." He said. She could now understand that Christine had his heart.
She let go of him and started to exit his room. But before she was gone, she turned back to him and said "I will always love you. Even if you couldn't see my love for you. You deserve someone who will be by your side. To love you and never will leave you." And with that, she left.
He suddenly felt his heart break when she left. He knew in his heart that Meg would never leave him because she Comforted him even though he had his mask off. He ran after her. He wanted to start over with her. He introduced himself as Erik and he stated that he wanted to start off as friends. She accepted and they became very close. They got to know each other better and soon they started dating. They married and had a daughter named melody. And it seemed that he was finally happy. But he didn't know that an old friend was coming to visit.
