Hi, I'm Mia. I'm 24, from London and still live in London. I have a 10 till 6 job, Tuesday to Saturday and it pays okay I guess. I don't really know how to describe myself other than average really. I stand at about 5''9, I don't really weigh myself but I think I'm about nine and a bit stone, my hair is brown with blonde highlights and its down to my waist, just dead straight. I hate my high cheekbones, people always think I'm from eastern Europe because I have that sort of face shape. My eyes are a bright blue which doesn't help the eastern European thing. Both my ears are stretched to a 00 gauge, but I always have my hair over my right shoulder so it covers one ear, so people assume I only have the one stretched. I did have my lip pierced at one point, but I took that out because it got sore. I work in a little fancy boutique, and it costs an arm and a leg in there. I'm the only one that works in there so I have to work hard. Scrubbing the floors, cleaning the changing rooms, hanging clothes, restocking, everything. But the awesome thing is when the store restocks, the stuff they didn't sell I get first pick of. So I pretty much take it, sell it on ebay, sell it to friends and family for really cheap prices and I give what I cant get rid of to charity. The boutique doesn't care as long as the clothes aren't in the way. I love London, but its so expensive to live here. I must be on about £1,200 a month. I barely use the car, I pay my taxes and bills like a good girl and I'm pretty much never behind on my rent. I share (well, used to) a house with my friend, Megan, but she's a major drunk so without her rent I was struggling to pay rent. She's getting help, so I figured she needed a stable home while she got better so I kept paying the rent. That's a boring story you don't need to hear about. I don't have many friends, my life is pretty boring. That word sums up my life; boring. But there is two little sparks that make everything okay. Dan and Phil, the neighbours/ the guys who's sofa I've been sleeping on for two weeks.
Many people know them as Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil on YouTube, and I watch their videos too, they're awesome. Some of the videos I've been sitting behind the camera or been with them while they were editing. They get recognised in public quite a lot actually, the people don't come over but they stare. Dan and Phil sort of picked me out of the gutter about this time last year. I owe them so much, and I mean so much. This time last year I was like Megan is now. Drunk, broke, confused, lost and alone. Well Megan isn't alone but you get the point. I'm seriously not sure how it happened, but I think I sort of fell on them after a night out. I think I was wearing next to nothing so being the gentleman they are, they took me back to their place, cleaned, fed and clothed me and made sure I was okay. If it wasn't for them I don't know where I'd be now. Well, homeless I guess.
You see, about two weeks ago, Megan disappeared. She just vanished. I now know where she is, she went back to Aberdeen to be with family, but I had no other rent money coming in, and that house is god damn expensive. It was right between pay day, and some idiot decided to drive right into the side of me and push me into a lamppost while I was driving down the road. I somehow got out of it with some scrapes and a broken arm but that's healing fine, but the damage to the car was a lot, but not unfixable. So I paid the £900, having to dig into my savings (long family history, the only money I have from family is my creepy uncle when he died he left me the money I could find in his flat) so without Megan, and the car repair and the cooker broke so I had to get a guy in to fix that so well, I had no money. I still don't. But the landlord came along (huge guy, could be in the Mafia if he wanted to) and wanted the rent or I had to be out within the week. I sold what I could, still not even half the rent. So I packed, cleaned the house and left. Then Phil notice I was getting grubby sleeping on park benches, so he and Dan let me move my stuff in and sleep on the couch. I go to work every day to make some money and pay them what I can for food and water and electricity and of course the internet and TV, but seriously I'm still picking pennies off the pavement. I got to meet all Dan and Phil's friends, most of them are YouTubers and I watch pretty much all of them so its cool hanging out with them. Despite the fact I don't make videos they're all still really friendly and nice, I've just sort of become the lighting guy for some of them. Its cool being friends with people who go off and experience things. Like Jack and Finn. Whenever they go off somewhere, they send Dan and Phil a postcard, then I get one of my own which makes my day, and they write and text and email, everything. I'm still waiting for the carrier pigeon they probably sent. Dan and Phil are the little sparks in my life, the guys that make me smile no matter what.
