"No way! No"
"Are you kidding me?"
"You know I would never wear that, Hanna!" I point out to my best friend, as we go through her closet. It has been a tradition to have a sleepover at hers every year, the night before school starts, and this year was no different.
"Well, then I'm taking it," she says, before peeking at me to see if I'll object.
"Light colors are not my thing." I assure her.
She looks back into the closet, then widens her eyes in surprise, "I found the perfect ensemble for you!" She exclaims, then takes out dark blue shorts, white crop tops that says- REBEL.
She smiles, knowing very well that I'm going to agree, then she adds purposefully, "Your look will get a nice touch with your signature black leather jacket". That last comment definitely sold it.
I nod, grinning, "Now that's out of the way, let's 'Netflix and Chill'!" I wink at her, intending the innuendo.
She laughs and continues,"But honey, I'm tired!" She exclaims with the back of her hand at her forehead for dramatic-ism.
I pout at her which again brings her to laughter, and then finally nods, "Alright! Go get my laptop while I get us something to snack on", she says, leaving the bedroom.I get her rose-gold mac and skim through all the shows till I see that Game of Thrones is on. I immediately click it, and wait for Hanna to return.
"Cara! Do you want popcorn or Oreos?!!" She yells from downstairs.
"What popcorn?" I ask, remembering the last time I ate popcorn, and gagged at the caramel flavor which stained my tongue. I absolutely hate caramel popcorn.
"There is butter and white cheddar! So Which?!""Well, both?"
"Yeah okay!"
After five minutes, she returns with two popcorn buckets, and settles down next to me as I play the show.
"Do you think we will ever grow apart once we finish high school this year?", she asks, chewing her popcorn with her eyes on screen.
We have been best friends since forever and I don't remember a time I haven't had her by my side."No. Now shut up and eat"
*****************************
"Stop, please!" I beg him.
He smirked, knowing very well how to break me, how to slowly kill me. He knew everything about me.. Some things I didn't know myself.
Then, he whispered near my ear, "I will find you.. You can't hide forever.. We both know how it's going to end, don't we?"
I nod profusely, shutting my eyes waiting for this to get over.
I sit up screaming, and look around. I am lying down next to a sleeping Hanna who is weaaring a faint smile.
He is gone. He is gone. He is can never find me.
I keep repeating this mantra that has helped me always and rush to the kitchen to get Hershey's.
i check the time - it is 6:20. I don't think I can sleep again even if I want to, so I get up. I trudge to the bathroom ready to take a shower
After my shower, I wear my clothes and get to the makeup table in her room.
I look at myself, my reddish brown waves of hair, my hazel eyes and my pink lips. I am pretty confident about my looks and don't care if anyone thinks otherwise.
I line my eyes and gloss my lips. Finally, I brush my waves till they are tamed.
I turn and walk to the bed and jump at Hanna, not losing this golden opportunity.
"Wake up, you lazy ass! It is 7 already!," I yell at the top of my voice, waiting to get some sort of a response from her."Go away before I kill you, you heartless poo!" I laugh at her childish threat, and continuously jumping on her. Revenge!
